ALISSA MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO THE PARKING LOT BEFORE HER ARM WAS GRABBED FOR THE SECOND DAY IN ROW. She harshly spun around, arm raised, but it dropped when she realized it was Peter, letting out a breath of relief. After the previous events of the night before, she was a little weary still, and so was her family after hearing of the close encounter. They were thankful that Spider-Man swooped in (Alissa made sure to let them know she still had it handled) and brought her home, safe and sound. Kelli and Scott were happy she wasn't harmed, but annoyed that Spider-Man had swung in. They didn't say anything, but their dislike of Spider-Man was clear on their faces despite them not saying another word about him.
"God, you scared me, Pete," Alissa panted, lazily dropping her hands down at her sides, catching her breath. Peter coughed a little, panting a little after racing out of the school to stop her from leaving. He finally had his chance, and he wasn't about to lose it again. Not again. "You can't just grab girls at random and—"
Alissa was cut off by Peter carefully grabbing his cheeks and pulling her lips to his. She was frozen, body tensed up and lips unmoving with his. However, realizing what was happening—finally, and again—she kissed him back, closing her eyes and savoring the moment. She smiled into the kiss, breaking the kiss the same time as Peter. It was a little rushed, but it was much needed.
A blush coated her lips, her voice seeming to be failing her. "Um, w-what was that, exactly?" She asked, tucking some stray hair behind her ears, trying to keep her eyes from looking into his that she felt burning into her. The sun beat down on them, and despite the cold that still swaddled them, she felt her face burning hot.
Peter let out a nervous laugh, scuffing his feet along the pavement, hands tucked in his pockets. "You didn't really give me a chance to kiss you back, so, I just did it myself," he answered.
Alissa's head perked up, a smile working onto her lips even though she tried to hide it. She rubbed her hands together, biting her lip, "Were you really?"
Peter nodded. "Y-Yeah. I-I like you, too."
Alissa's eyes enlarged, a gasp that sounded much like a car alarm came from the back of her throat. She clamped her hands over her mouth, ducking her head down to hide her embarrassment from him as he loudly laughed. She was so embarrassed in that moment, but she couldn't believe what had happened in just a span of eight minutes.
She poured her heart out to Peter.
She kissed him.
Then he kissed her, and most importantly, he said he liked her, too.
She wasn't sure if she was meant to cheer and jump in his arms or just lamely nod, acting as if it wasn't the best thing she'd heard all year.
Peter pushed some hair back from his forehead, Alissa finally straightening out and pushing her hair aside so it wasn't blowing all around in her face. The two made eye contact again, smiling and grinning like twins teenagers hopelessly in love with each other.
