The Daughter

Chapter 6

Tony was enjoying this small moment with his daughter. Three months in captivity and years of pushing her away this was his chance to make things better. He could do better for his daughter and himself he is getting a second chance. Though it didnt take long before their quiet father daughter moment was ruined.

"Well that... That went well." Obadiah says.

"Did I just paint a target on the back of my head?" Tony asks.

"Your head what about my head? What do you think the over-under on the stock drop is gonna be tomorrow?" Obadiah asks.

"About 40." Tony says.

"Thats a minimum. We make weapons Tony. Its what we do." Obadiah says.

"I think we should take another look into arc reactor technology." Tony says.

"Its a publicity stunt. We built it to shut the hippies up." Obadiah says.

"It works." Tony says.

"Yeah as a science project. Arc reactor technology its a dead end right?" Obadiah asks.

"Maybe. Right kid. Is it maybe a dead end?" Tony asks Willa.

"The kid knows nothing. Causes trouble. She said somethings Im still not happy with. So this tech.. Arc Reactor technology is a dead end. Isnt it? We havent had a breakthrough in that in what 30 years?" Obadiah questions.

"Thats what they say." Tony says.

The look on Obadiah's face and the questions he was asking about Arc Reactor technology. Well it made both Stark know that he knew just what Tony had on him.

"Could you have a lousier poker face? Just tell me who told you?" Tony asks.

"Never mind who told me. Show me." Obadiah says.

"Rhodey or Pepper. It's Rhodey or Pepper. Couldnt be Willa cause she doesnt like you." Tony says.

"I want to see it." Obadiah says.

"Okay Rhodey." Tony says.

"Dad he doesnt need to see it." Willa says.

Obadiah gave her a dirty look and as Tony ignored his daughter to prove a point that the technology works. If there is one thing Tony loves most it being right.

"It works." Tony says showing Obadiah the reactor in his chest.

"Okay. Okay. We're a team. There's nothing we cant do if we stick together." Obadiah says placing his arm around Tony.

"Now let me handle all this cause were gonna take a lot of heat. You gotta promise me you'll lay low." Obadiah says.

His words made Willa uncomfortable. Her dad wants to change the game for something better, but she could feel that Stane had other ideas.

A few days past and Tony was working on a better Arc Reactor and as he worked for those days Willa staid beside him. Now that he was finished he needed help with putting it in and Willa refused to help. So he decided to call Pepper down instead.

"Pepper how big are your hands?" Tony asks over call.

"What?" Pepper asks.

"How big are your hands?" Tony asks again.

"I dont understand." Pepper says.

"Get down here. I need you." Tony says.

Pepper walked down into the lab and Tony was just laying in a chair. Pepper noticed that Willa was sitting at his desk if she was here why did Tony need her.
