Osoroshī tiredly flapped her wings. The forbidden land was farther than she had thought. She had flew through the day, and was now following the setting sun. She kept dosing off, then would be jerked awake went she would dip in the air. Her wings were getting heavier and heavier, and she could barely move them . The air was dropping in temperature, giving Osoroshī chill bumps. Her eyes were watering from the cold sting of the wind, making her vision blurry. She had passed a few islands, but she wanted to go farther inland. She was now regretting that. She was losing altitude, and fast. The blue ocean below her suddenly turned green, she had made it to land. The large trees flashed underneath her, rippling in the wind. There were lights getting near, as well of a small mountain range. She cries out in pain as a branch whips across her face, causing her to lose control. She hadn't been paying attention to how low she was getting. She slams against tree branches, trunks, and boulders. Finally she hits the ground, but she drags up the earth with her. She leaves a deep rut mark behind her, as she slides across the ground. She hisses in pain, feeling dirt pack into her new cuts. She rolls a few more yards, then stops abruptly when her back hits a tree. She groans, rolling into her stomach. Her wings felt like they were on fire, and she couldn't move them at all.
She stays on the ground for quite a while, too worn out to move. A small puddle of blood surrounded the girl, staining her dark wings. She struggles to sit up, her wings twitching with the effort. "That was... painful." She mutters to herself. She finally moves into a sitting position, leaning against the tree. She sighs, letting her body go limp. The air still held warmth, even though it was night time. She closes her eyes, feeling exhausted. She had never flew that far, while being over the ocean. The ocean didn't reflect the suns warmth, making the air above it cool. The cool air didn't help winged creatures whatsoever. The earth reflected the warmth, making it easier to glide. The less she flapped, she less energy she used. The more she flapped, the more energy she used. She could fly for days on end, if she was flying over land. She had almost no ocean flying experience, because she had never needed to cross the sea before now.
Her dark eyes fly open, hearing the snap of a branch. She huffs, trying to stand up; but she had now gone numb all over her body. She closes her eyes again, pretending to be asleep.
She could hear the person getting nearer, they were extremely loud. She peeks open one eye, watching a bush shudder. The large bush was about seven feet away from her, and more on her right side. She flinched in surprise as a small head poke through the bush. It was a young boy, about her age. He had bright blue eyes, and black whisker marks on his cheeks; but what surprised Osoroshī the most was the mass of gold on his head. Her eyes open wide in wonder. The boys hair reminded her of the lion tribe, always so proud of their large manes. Osoroshī and the boy make eye contact. "Woah!" The boy yells in surprise, falling backward. He disappeared back into the bush, making Osoroshī feel disappointed. There were a series of snaps and cracks from the bush, then the boy reappeared. "Uh... Are you alright?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck. She blinks at him, feeling excited. "Y-yeah." She nods, then grimaces at the sharp pain in her neck. The boy walks forward, his hair shining in the moonlight. "Are you sure?" He bends down in front of her, smiling sheepishly. "You don't look too good." He finally plops down on the ground beside her, careful not to land on her wings. "I got too tired while flying, I should have stopped for a rest a long time ago. So I crash landed." She murmurs, watching him carefully. Is this one of the savage people that Mother had warned her about? "Woah, what are you wearing!?" He yells, face a deep crimson. "This is common clothing, is it not?" She asked, confused. "You're bleeding!" She exclaims, looking at his nose. It was true, his nose had begun to bleed steadily. "Ahhhh!" He yells, covering his nose. She laughs, ignoring her aching body. The boy finally got his nose to quit bleeding, and he turns back to Osoroshī. "Huh, so who are you?" He asked. "I'm Osoroshī Karasu. Who are you?" He tilts his head to the side in though. "Hmmm, I've heard that name somewhere... Oh well, I'm Naruto Uzumaki, the greatest ninja ever and the future Hokage of the village hidden in the leaves! Believe it!" He yells loudly, startling Osoroshī. "Is Hokage like Chief?" She asked, trying to understand better. Naruto looks at her, wide-eyed. "You don't know what a Hokage is?" He asked incredulously. Osoroshī laughs sheepishly with a blush. "Or a ninja..." She adds. "Whaaaa?" Naruto flails his arms as he falls backwards. "What rock have you been living under?" He asks. "I lived in a tree, on a distant island." She grumbles, narrowing her eyes. Naruto gasps, suddenly noticing her wings. "You have wings!?" He exclaims loudly, making Osoroshī flinch. "Yes..." She sweat-drops. 'How clueless is this boy?' She wonders, eye twitching. "Oh, and you're hurt pretty badly." He says, softer now. She sighs, trying to move her wings again; but the tips would only twitch. "Yeah..." She says quietly, realizing how dangerous it was for her to stay on the ground in this state of health. Suddenly Naruto leaps up, holding his fist to his chest. "I'll make sure you're safe!" He yells, making his strange headband fall over his eyes. She giggles, "That would be kind of you. Do you know of a cave, or clearing near here?" Osoroshī asks, as he pushes his headband out of his eyes. His headband was blue, with a piece of metal in the front. Curiously enough, there was a weird sign engraved in the metal; like a swirly leaf. "Yeah, I do. Believe it!" He yells, and helps her stand. She leans her weight on him, finding it difficult to walk on numb legs. Her toes were tingling, making her uncomfortable. They makes their way slowly through the forest, grunting and huffing along the way. Osoroshī couldn't help but be mesmerized by his spiky blond hair. It was the first time she had seen any human with that color, and it was so spiky! She kept on seeing the lion tribe in her mind. "Okay, is this hidden enough?" Naruto says, pulling her out of her thoughts. They were in front of a cave, the mouth of the cave was like a giant maw of some beast; waiting to swallow them whole. "Yes, it should be safe." She murmurs as the limp into the cavern. "It's not too far from the village, so I'll get to come and see you in-between missions! Believe it!" He yells, shoving his fist in the air. That action sent them both tumbling over, causing Osoroshī to gasp in surprise. They found them selves on the ground, Naruto lying on top of one of her wings. She groans, pulling at the dead-like limb. Naruto leaps off, scratching the back if his neck sheepishly. "Sorry Osoroshī!" He yells, helping her up. "It's alright, Naruto." She mumbles, his eagerness was wearing her out even more. Naruto helps her to the back of the cave, which surprisingly wasn't that dark. She could see his face, and his outline against the light spilling from the cave mouth. "I'll be back in the morning with breakfast, okay?" He whispers to the girl. "Thank you for helping me, Naruto." Osoroshī mumbles, drifting off to sleep. Naruto gives one last grin, then races off. He was too excited too sleep the rest of the night, he was impatiently waiting for morning. He couldn't wait to see his new winged friend again.
