Osoroshī was stiffly walking around inside her cave. Sleeping on the hard stones had left her sore. She hadn't realized until now that she had left behind her staff. She wasn't as powerful without her staff, the staff helped conduct her spirit powers. Osoroshī shuffled along the cave wall, using the wall to keep her balance. Her wings were folded behind her, slightly dragging on the dusty ground. She finally makes her way outside, flinching in pain when the bright sunlight reaches her tired eyes. She sighs, enjoying the sounds of the forest. There was a hum from the insects as they traveled around their forest home. Bugs here weren't near as big as the ones on the island. Where the bugs here were a little bit bigger than her finger nail, the ones at home were bigger than her palm; they taste pretty good too.
Birds were chirping happily, chatting loudly with each other. Osoroshī slowly sits down with her back against a large rock. Her stomach growls in complaint, causing her to laugh. A small fawn that had been hiding in the brush, hesitantly started walking to the girl. She smiles, gently stroking the small deer's cheek. "Do you think the golden haired boy will come like he promised, little fawn?" She murmurs, tickling the fawns nose. The fawn shakes it head with a sneeze, then looks back at the girl. The fawn blinked its large brown eyes, and it's ears swerved backward in alarm. It sprints off, stumbling a little, into the forest. Osoroshī was instantly preparing for an attack. Something had startled the young deer, but she didn't know what it was. "Flap flap flap." The heavy sound of wing beats made her relax. It was only a bird... A very large bird. Osoroshī squints up in the direction of the flapping, it was familiar. A large shadow covered the sun, as the flapping grew closer. She closed her eyes, and listened. "Thump." Something large landed on the ground, making her open her eyes. There, a few feet from her, was a massive dove. If she had been standing it would have came up to her knees, the chubby thing. She smiles, reaching forward to run her fingers through the birds soft white feather. "Hello, Dove. Why have you left the island?" She asked, knowing that birds didn't grow that big in these lands. The bird proved her right when it spoke back. "You left something, I only wanted to bring it to you!" The young bird cooed. It dropped something from its grey taloned foot. There, shining in the sunlight, was her staff. "Oh!" She exclaims scooping it up. "Oh thank you, I'll be in debt to the dove clan for a long time!" She says loudly, staring wide-eyed at her spirit staff. She used it to stand, the white skull on top pulsed silver; it almost seemed to be greeting the girl. "What can I do to repay you?" She asked, looking back at the pretty dove. "When your exile has come to an end, just come back safely. That's all I ask." It cooed quietly, looking at her sadly. She nods solemnly. "I'll try my best." She murmurs, rubbing its soft feathers. The dove sent her a closed-eyed smile, seeing it has no lips, and fluffed up its feathers. "I'll have to leave now, and I'll have to be quick!" The dove exclaims, opening its large wings. "I would hate to become dinner for one of the savage people!" It pushed off the ground, soaring up into the air. "Thank you, farewell! Be careful flying over the ocean, don't go to low!" She yelled, waving after the bird. She smiles and slightly pushes her staff toward the kind bird. "Oh!" She could hear the bird say in the distance, startled at the sudden boost of speed. She had used her staff to push the wind in the birds favor. She watches the bird, which was only a dark spot in the sky, longingly. She heard a rustling, and she turned around. She laughed happily when she saw a familiar golden headed boy walk into the clearing. "Naruto, you did come back!" She said in relief. He looked shocked about how glad she had been when she saw him. No one had ever greeted him like that, except for Iruka-Sensei; but even Iruka-Sensei never seemed that relieved. "Uh, yeah. Of course I came back!" He sounded uncertain at first, but by the end of his sentence, he was yelling again. "Huh? Where did you get that skull-stick?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck; while staring at her staff in wonder. "A friend brought it to me." She answered, walking towards him. He shook his head, and plopped down in the ground. He pulled out two pairs of chopsticks, and Osoroshī sent him a confused look. She sat down by him, even more confused when he handed her two of the smooth twigs. "What do I with theses sticks?" She wondered aloud. Naruto yelled, and fell backward with a sweat drop. "You don't know what chopsticks are!?" He exclaims, wiggling up beside her. She blushes, looking at the grass. "Where I come from, we use our hands..." She murmured, as he grabbed her hand. She looked at him shocked as he set the chopsticks in her hand correctly. "Now move your fingers like that..." He trailed off, the edge of his tongue peeking out of his mouth in concentration. "There!" He yelled, when she finally got it right. "Now for the food!" He exclaimed, pulling out two steaming cups. Osoroshī looked around him, eyes wide; 'Where did he get those from?' She wondered, staring into the cup. Yellow noodles sat steaming in the bowl. Osoroshī had never seen anything like it. "What is it?" She asked in amazement. Naruto sweat dropped again, looking at her in disbelief. "You have been living under a rock. How do you not know what ramen is!? It's the best food in the world, believe it!" He yelled, startling her. "I'm sorry." She muttered, feeling upset. Feathers started growing across her arms, making Naruto look at her arms in awe. "You're growing feathers, believe it!" He exclaims, lifting up her arm. She hesitantly smiled at his amazement. "Yeah, I do that." She says, making him look up at her. "Wow, how many feathers can you grow?" He wondered, stating into her dark eyes. She smirks, cocking an eyebrow. "Thousands, would you like to go for a fly?" His eyes sparkled in excitement, their food completely forgotten. "Yeah. believe it!" He yelled, jumping up. She smiles, his excitement catching on. "Okay, give me a moment!" She exclaims, setting her staff down. With a groaning of her bones, and the whisper of wind through her feather; she turned into her demon form, letting out a deep rumble. She stood tall enough to look down on a horse, making Naruto seem tiny. She shook her massive dragon-like snout, sniffing her new friend. She would memorize his scent so she would be able to track him. She took a step forward, her large raven foot leaving a print on the ground. She shuffled her feather, crouching down so the boy could get in her back. "Woah..." Naruto whispered, staring up at her. "That's amazing!" He yelled, leaping on her back. She gave a gruff, deep chuckle. She took four steps forward, then with a mighty push, shot into the air. He sat on her shoulders, gripping her thick, yet silky, black feathers in his hand. She kept her wings spread wide, soaring high above the ground. She could see a village near them, and she flew above it. Naruto was rapidly looking side to side, yelling out the names of places he knew. "And there's my apartment, and there's Sakura's house!" He yelled, pointing in random directions. She let a grumbling laugh, her deep voice thundering as she spoke. "Can we go back now, I'm still hungry." Naruto looked a little sad, then perked up. "Yeah, as long as we do this often!" He yelled over the wind. She nodded her large head. "I promise." She rumbled,

The two friends were back at their clearing, gulping down their now cold ramen. "I start my first mission tomorrow, I'm so excited!" He said, in-between gulps. "I'm on team seven, Kakashi is my Sensei. There's this guy named Sasuke on my, all the girls like him, but I don't see why." He grumbled, he obviously disliked the guy. "Then there's Sakura," His eyes started sparkling. "She's the prettiest girl ever!" He yelled, then blushed. Osoroshī laughed, but couldn't help but feel sad. He liked the girl, Sakura, quite a bit it seemed. "They sound great, I would love to meet them if I had a chance." Naruto looked a little hesitant, not wanting his new best friend to fall for Sasuke, like all the other girls. "Yeah, maybe someday." He mumbled, staring into the empty cup, Osoroshī looked up at him. "You'll always be my best friend, Naruto. I promise I'll always be there for you." She murmured, making the boy look up shocked. "Really?" He asked, tears welling up. "Yes." She stated firmly, without a doubt. Naruto looked completely ecstatic. He would never had been able to imagine the day he made friend with such a mysterious, pretty and kind girl. He vowed, right there, that he would never let anyone hurt her; even if it cost him his life.
