I groaned waking up to the first rays of sun hitting my face. Where was I? I went to sit up and saw I had fallin asleep on my laptop. I guess there had been more files then I thought. I checked quickly to see if they were all taken care of. I let out a sigh of relief at the sight of them all done and all the issues addressed. I did have to go down and personally check a few of the resorts to see how the issues were addressed but that was pretty normal. Overall, Onami would stay afloat for a little while. I checked the time to see it was only 4 am. That gave me enough time to get ready and still do my homework this morning with Haruhi. It was sort of nice the thought of having company for once when working that wasn't required. It took me only a half hour to shower and get ready for the day. I never really was one for makeup and 'dressing up'. I threw on my dress only to see the first few buttons had broken somehow off leaving my ample chest partially exposed, I attempted to fix it but after awhile I just have up and made a quick omelet for Koko and left it on the table with a note and the time the driver Niko would pick her up. I had a driver I hired out for business here and there who I had the utmost confidence in. He had worked for my father before me and had known both of us since birth. I rushed out the door and reached the 5th library in record time. Sitting under the largest window was Haruhi with muffins. I plopped down at her side books at the ready.
"Morning Haruhi!" I said cheerfully, so much so I surprised myself. I was always a morning person but never so much so. Maybe some friendship was good for me.
"Hey, I baked some muffins this morning and brought ya some," She said handing me one.
"Oh wow, thank you so much! I never really get around to eating breakfast, only making it," I said great fully. It was nice to be fed rather then the other way around for once. I loved Koko but sometimes it was hard being a replacement mom at 17.
" I know how you feel, I always seem to be cooking for my dad when I'm home. If I don't though he never remembers to eat!" I nodded in understanding.
"What about your mom?" I asked curiously.
"She died when I was younger, it's been just me and my dad for awhile now," she said with a sad smile. That's rough.
"I'm sorry I didn't know, that must have been really hard on you," I said.
"I've handled it pretty well, I like to think that she would be proud of me for taking care of my dad and working hard in school," she sighed.
"I'm sure she would be," I said with a sincere smile.
"I'm sure your parents would be too," she said. I opened my mouth to respond but no words came to mind. I just shrugged. She seemed to understand.
"Well, let's get to it!" She said holding up her pen like a sword in battle. I laughed at the ridiculous sight.
"Let's!" I agreed and opened my textbooks up and got started.
The time seemed to fly by and before I knew it the bell rang. I managed to get all my work done for today and some work due in a few days. I waved goodbye to Haruhi after agreeing to do this with her tomorrow as well. I walked slowly to class observing everyone around me out of sheet habit. All of the students seemed to posses little secrets here and there. Insecurities. Fears. Lies. All of which could be seen in the littlest of actions. I tried to avoid focusing on other peoples lives. Who was I to judge. I had always been good at reading people, sometimes I wish it was the other way around though. I had only had my family ever truly figure me out. My secrets. Not all of which involve fur. I was the second person to sit down and waited patiently for class to start looking out the window happily. It really was a beautiful day. The sun seemed to illuminate the colossal campus and everything in it. I only looked up at the sound of Honey and Mori.
"Hey you guys," I said with a small smile.
"Good morning Meu! Did you have fun yesterday?" Honey asked sliding into his desk. A flashback of Kyoyas body pressed against mine and then his butt hitting the floor made me giggle.
"Oh yes I did actually," I said with a mischievous glint in my eyes. Honey seemed to notice but didn't say anything about it.
"I'm glad! If ya finish working early will ya come visit Mori and I?" He asked hopefully spinning around with Usa-chan.
"Of course, and I'm sorry I forgot to thank you two for helping Koko yesterday with her homework. It was really sweet of you," I said looking at Mori as well with a smile. He nodded and returned mine with a very small one as well. A rare treat I had perceived from his personality.
"We like Koko," Mori said simply.
"I'm glad! She can be a bit of a handful but she is really sweet. She thinks the world of the both of you," I laughed.
"Really? That's awesome!" Honey said with a jump. The second bell went off and class began without a bang. I tried to be good and follow along taking notes here and there though I didn't need them really. Near the end I began to day dream a little and started doodling. It wasn't til class ended that I realized I had drawn a pair of black glasses over and over again.
