CHAPTER THREE

I've been spending my time scrolling down on Googles feed. I've been thinking lately the real reason behind the shutdown of the said station. I felt sad for the workers. Yes, there are lots of job offers out there but the fact that we are facing some serious problems for now is not a good idea.

"Masira mata mo yan,day." umusog ako ng konti giving Lyrelle space dahil uupo siya sa tabi ko.

As you can observed also, she's a bit different when she speak. She keeps on using 'day' and as far as I know, it's a bisaya thing. Well, she lives in leyte and been her tradition so, no wonder.

"Nagbabasa lang"

"Di ka talaga maka move on dyan, 'no?"

"Yeah. It keeps on bothering me,"

"May maitutulong ka ba dyan kung sakali?" I let out a heavy sigh. That's the question. A big question to be exact.

"I don't know."

"See? Manoud na lang tayo at sayang ang cable."

"No. I'll finish reading this." pointing out the article I just clicked.

"Seryoso ka?"

"Yes."

"Grabe ka pala magmahal sa sariling bayan ano?"

"Of course. I'm a filipino so I must be concern about my country."

"Grabe ka, day. Ikaw na. Dinaig mo pa Presidente sa pamo'mroblema niyan"

"Tsk. I was just concern with the citizens who will surely lose their jobs if that station will continue to shutdown."

"Kasalanan rin naman nila yan."

"Isa lang ang may kasalanan, Lyrelle. Isa lang talaga pero sakop lahat."

"Ano ba kasing totoong issue dyan?"

"Akala ko ba alam mo?"

"Mukha bang alam ko? Alam ko ba kasi nagtatanong ako? Alam ko ba?"

"Baliw!"

"So ano nga?" I rolled my eyes first before proceeding.

"As you know, the President of the country is currently sick so the Vice President will be the head as of now. And based on what I've read, the said st--"

"Teka! Teka nga" I look at her when she started pinching her nose.

"What?"

"Pwede tagalog? Hindi kakayanin ng storage ko. Hindi talaga"

"Fine. Base sa nabasa ko ang station na ipapasara ay may kinauukulang utang na hindi nababayaran at napaka laswa raw ng mga ibinabahaging panourin and the way they emit their news ay may bias raw"

"Bawal naman kasi yun. Dapat pag reporter ka ay wala kang papanigan. Alam ko ang mga iyan dahil campus journalist din ako 'no"

"Pero base naman sa mga nakita kong videos ng station ay wala naman. Trust me, I was once a journalist"

"Talaga?!"

"Yes"

"So ano? Ano maitutulong mo dyan? Post post lang sa social media? Paawa effect?"

"Not my thing. I'd love to talk to them if ever in person. I don't like conversations through social media"

"Char. Iba ka talaga eh. Pero yung President, kamusta na kaya iyon?"

"I hope he's fine"

"Oo nga. Ang galing niyang president pero since yung VP ang nangasiwa, problemang sunod sunod ang kinaharap ng bansa"
