"He did what?" Sam looked at Dean, "I mean really?" He ran his hand through his dark hair,
"Oh yeah; looks like Cas has got it bad for Lara." Dean said as he perched against the kitchen worktop, "I've tried speaking to her but she gave a pretty good argument and blew me off." Sam looked at him as understanding flitted through his eyes,
"Wait...Dean, what makes you think she will listen to me?" He asked as he soothed Deana when she started to fuss, "Shh Dee daddies got you."
"Sammy we all know you are the peacemaker of the family; it has been ingrained in you since you were a child." He picked up the baby from Sam's arms, "come to uncle Dean baby girl. Daddy needs to speak some sense into your Aunty Lara." He watched as her eyes lock with his, the same green eyes of his brother and felt the breath leave his body.
"Ok, ok I'll talk to her. But maybe we should let them decide what they are going to do." He looked at Sammy in disbelief,
"Really and what happens when everything goes wrong and he breaks her heart or vice versus; it would put such a strain on our family."
"And what happens if it does work out; that they are made for each other and complement each other. We managed to find it and I know deep inside you wish Cas would find someone; we have all been so lonely that I think we all deserve a bit of happiness."
"But Sammy they could never have kids, the second she fell pregnant all the angels that are still left will hunt her down as angels and humans produce Nephilim's. It is frowned upon; the only way Jack has been allowed to live is because he decided to take adult form so the angels could not touch him." He looked away from Sammy, "and Kelly died giving birth to him."
"Dean she is a grown woman; she can make her own decision; we just need to be there to support her." Sammy shrugged his shoulders, "but I will go and talk to her." Leaving his brother with his daughter Sam turned and walked down the corridor to his sisters' room.

A loud knock at the door made me jump; causing me to drop the pile of clothes I had in my hand; cursing I left them on the floor and marched to the door;
"Dean enough already," I said as I opened the door; but it is not my oldest brother standing there but Sam. "Sam?" I asked enquiringly, "let me guess Dean told you to come and talk to me too." He had the decency to look embarrassed,
"He is just worried about you Lara; you and Cas...look can I come in?" He asked as I stood back for the second time that night for one of my brothers. Turning around I bent to pick up the clothes from the floor; Sam hasn't said a word and I turned to look at him noting that he is flushing red while looking at the canvas. "Oh, for gods' sake Sam it's just a painting!" I exclaimed, testing it with my fingers to see if the paint was somewhat dry before I covered it with a sheet.
He looked at me and visibly shook himself to look cool as a cucumber.
"I'm not going to lecture you; you are a grown woman but you need to know about the pros and cons before you can jump into this thing you and Cas seemed to have developed." He held up his hands as I started to protest; "I've not seen it but Dean has. First, if you and Cas do start a relationship and it goes wrong then it would cause a divide within the family; Dean would be stuck between his best friend and his baby sister. Secondly, even if it did work; you wouldn't be able to start a family as all the angels that are still left would hunt any child you and Cas have. This is because they see Nephilim's like an abomination. The only reason Jack survived is that he chose to become an adult straight away. And lastly, Jacks mum Kelly died when he was born...how do you think we would all feel if that happened to you?" He placed his hand on my shoulder and gave it a squeeze, "but ultimately it is up to you; no matter what Dean says we will support your decision."
