"Lacey, do you know how to do this?" She shook her head at me before sliding the lock on the door and pushed a chair in front of it. She came back and stood by us as she held on to Cadi's hand, she started to rub her head,
"No Sam, Dean and Cas were with me the last time? Because of the Winchesters past we couldn't go to the hospital so the three of them played midwife. I tried looking up what to do; but by the time Deana went to sleep I was too tired to do any research. I managed to grab some towels and blankets as we ran from the room though" Just as I was about to answer I heard fighting down the corridor,
"What are they doing?" I said as I laid a thick white blanket on the floor of the room, "Cadi we are going to have to get you on the floor soon, I think we will need to help deliver your son?"
"It's the Alpha werewolf..." Cadi said through gritted teeth as another contraction shook her small frame, "The pack that killed your friend, they are after you now. I don't know why?" As I ignored the fear curling in my stomach, I helped Cadi of the sofa and removed her trousers before I helped her lay on the blanket.
"Well hopefully the guys will keep him busy while we deliver this bundle of joy." With my sleeves rolled up I knelt between Cadis' bent knees as I wished Cas and my brothers were here to help, "your body will tell you what to do? If you need to push then you do it ok?" Nodding she laid back against Lacey who helped remove her top as another contraction shook her frame. Once she braced her arms on her knees while being supported by Lacey, I heard banging outside the door, growls came from the closed door followed wet sniffling.
"Little bird I know you are in there?" I deep gravelly voice sounded from the door as Cadi picked up her gun and handed it to me.
"Lara, I need to push...?" She yelled to the open room while I looked at her concerned, "if the wolves are outside the doors in means the boys couldn't stop them; but this baby is not staying put." Trying to ignore the banging on the other side of the door I handed the gun to Lacey who kept it down by her side in case anything came through the door.
"Ok Cadi, if your body tells you to push, then push!" holding on to her knees she started to push as if her life depended on it,
"Hmm little bird is there a chick coming into the world in there? I love a good chick-a-Dee." The gravelly voice said beyond the door before a loud gun shot is heard,
"I don't think so ass-hat." Suddenly the knocking at the door was frantic, "Lacy, Cadi, Lara?" Deans' voice sounded from beside the door but I knew I couldn't move as I kepr an eye on Cadi while she delivered their baby boy into the world. Unexpectedly, there was a sound of feathered wings before Dean sat next to Cadi; his hand clutched hers tightly. Cas stood just beside me while Sam knelt on the other side. He pushed me away slightly.
"How is she doing?" He asked as he rolled up his sleeves before he took a look at her progress, "Right Cadi, one more push and then I need to you take a breather then; the baby's head is crowing." As she pushed one last time the baby's head popped out but I noticed that there was something wrapped around his neck; "Cadi I need you to not push for a second ok? The umbilical cord is wrapped around baby's neck; I'm going to have to move it first." He grabbed my hands and pulled them where the cord was choking the baby, "Lara I need you to put your fingers between the cord and the baby's neck; I'm going to have to turn him slightly to loosen the cord but I don't know which way it is twisted, I need you to tell me if it tightens or loosens ok?" With a nod of my head I placed my fingers against the cool skin of the baby and behind the umbilical cord as Sam slightly turned the baby clockwise. I could feel as the cord tightened,
"Other way Sammy" I said and breathed a sigh of relief as the cord loosened enough so I could pull it over the baby's head. With a look at my brother we both nodded at each other before I said, "Ok Cadi, one more push and he will be out." I placed the towel under the child as with one more push, he came sliding out into the world. As I rubbed him with a towel, I prayed that he would cry, but he remained silent.
