it was only 7 in the evening, yet everything seemed so quiet. or perhaps it's because of the fact that she kept herself occupied outside the dorms. inaudible noises from her classmates were heard, but the sound of the wind rustling through the bushes and the crickets chirping by the trees stood out the most. the silence was defeaning, but it was pleasing to her ears. the sun has set and the sky displayed a beautiful scenery as the stars flashed a bright color while the moon in the midst of the shining white orbs completed the masterpiece.

her eyes were fixated on nowhere in particular as her hand held a can of soda. she was just staring into the abyss, not minding the noises around her. her mind was blank while her eyes displayed lifelessness. she didn't know what to think, what to feel. in short, she was entirely empty. would she feel resentment about what happened? or is it the other way around? she didn't know what to do. she was mentally panicking, but instead of thinking of ways to think about fixing their situation, she decided to rest her mind. she needed time before everything goes back to normal.

with a sigh, she took another sip of the fizzy drink that she has in her hand as she repositioned herself on the fine grass since it was getting pretty uncomfortable. she now had her legs by her chest as her hands were circled around them for support while her chin was rested on her knees. "this is pointless." she whispered to herself and clicked her tounge.

just then, the loud noises from the building's interior started to grow louder and louder, and that's when the (h/c)nette realized that the door was slightly opening, since she spotted a line of light beside her, which caused her to look back to see who it was and finally, she wiped her blank expression off of her face and replaced it with a sweet, genuine smile. "hey there, izu."

the said male's breath hitched due to her greeting, but he didn't want to show his flustered state, so, he soundlessly closed the door and walked up to her current location, his hands by his back as his fingers were intertwined. "s-sorry about last night, (y/n). i should've just watched the stars alone in my room."

his words caused (y/n) to release another heavy sigh. she did not want to talk about the situation at the moment, but can she do anything? of course not. "twentieth time today, izu. i told you, you're not at fault. katsuki was just agitated at that moment. besides, i was the one who rested my head on your shoulder, right? it's not like you forced me to do it." she said with a reassuring tone, but that didn't convince the green-haired male at all. not even a single bit.

"i promise, (y/n), i definitely will talk to kacchan regarding the situation." midoriya proposed, but just by the look she gave off, she didn't approve of his option.

"i'm fine, izuku. i really am." she says, but what took her aback was his next sentence.

"stop saying that you're fine when your visibly hurt, (y/n)."

he was right. his words pierced right through her heart as the sudden realization hit her. she was wounded. it would seem foolish for her to be in pain over something so small, but her feelings were still valid. however, she made sure that her feelings won't slip out for the whole day, but bottling it all up sure is the worst choice she picked. others would've said that bakugou should be the one hurt because of her actions, but that concludes to the only reason why she secretly felt that way. her anger turned to sorrow.

standing up, she settled the soda can down as she placed her hand on midoriya's shoulder. "yes, let's say i'm in distress, but that wouldn't change the fact that katsuki won't attack you. i don't want one of my friends injured because of me, alright, izuku?"

midoriya had no choice but to agree with her own decision and just spent the night with her as they filled the silent night with humorous stories and soft giggles, but little did they know, a pair of eyes were gazing onto their direction and upon seeing the two together, the figure felt his heart clench in guilt. tch.
