"hm, doesn't instigating the whole thing count against you?" hwan replies. he intertwines their fingers and walks across the hall to a (surprisingly) empty bathroom.
wooyoung stares at him in disbelief and hiccups.
"huh?"
"god, never mind." hwan grabs him by the shoulders and maneuvers them, pushing wooyoung into the bathroom and turning the light on for him. "go to the bathroom for me real quick."
wooyoung scrunches up his nose and freezes in the doorway.
"i'll be right here, i promise. just go, you'll thank me later." he gives wooyoung a poke in the chest and pulls the door closed.
hwan leans against the wall and waits, hands in his pockets. he's relieved when he hears wooyoung actually listening to him. then the toilet flushes, he hears the sink turn on, then off, and then wooyoung fumbles the door open and stands there looking lost.
"you're so gone," hwan laughs, taking his hand. "come on, love. we're going back downstairs, okay?"
wooyoung nods once and walks awkwardly behind hwan. he observes the walls and forgets how to walk for a few seconds, nearly resulting in their death by a staircase.
"oh my god, there you are!!" a voice at the bottom of the stairs screams, and wooyoung's hit with a huge ache in his head.
he squints at the culprit of his pain and grins at him.
"haneul-ah!! thought you'd be gone," he slurs. haneul cocks an eyebrow and looks between the couple. he takes a drink from his water bottle and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand.
"was just about to go lock myself in my room. i'm not really feeling the best; thought i'd sleep it off, but i wanted to say bye first."
"ah, i see," wooyoung giggles. he reaches out with the hand that isn't in hwan's and ruffles haneul's hair. "gonna see you tomorrow for that study date?"
"yeah. rest up, wooyoung."
"you too!!" wooyoung waves excitedly before pulling hwan back towards the rest of the party.
"you wanna go home yet?" hwan asks curiously. he picks up a cup from the counter and takes a fat sip.
"mm, back hurts." wooyoung takes the cup from his hands and gulps down half of it.
"what the fuck—"
"come on!! let's go get sannie's keys!!"
hwan furrows his brows and downs the rest of the drink. he crushes the cup and throws it away before following wooyoung into the living room to search for san.
it doesn't take long to spot him on the couch, taking shots and receiving a lap dance from some sophomore boy while a group of people cheer them on.
"HEY," hwan yells, smacking him on the shoulder. san's head falls back, and he smiles drunkenly.
"wassup," he slurs before giggling. wooyoung squints at him and the boy on his lap. that's so odd; he thought san was straight.
"need your keys."
san removes a hand from the waist of the boy on his lap and drags a set of keys from his pocket. he dangles them in front of hwan, who takes them before they go flying across the room. san scratches his brother's chin with a laugh.
"text me when ya get home," san shouts as the couple start retreating across the room.
wooyoung hiccups and follows hwan, who swings the lanyard around a finger. they say goodbye to a few of hwan's friends—who are absolutely wasted, mind you—and soon they're sitting in san's car, both reeking heavily of alcohol.
