"jae, aren't you picking up your girlfriend?" san asks as he hears hwan and wooyoung walking into the room.
"i suppose," jaehyun says, standing up and looking at the guy next to him. "mingyu, you coming?"
mingyu nods and crushes his empty beer can in his hand, throwing it into the trash can and yelling "see y'all at the party!" to the boys still in the house as he follows jaehyun out the door.
the house becomes dead silent, and san turns around and immediately says, "is that my choker," in the most monotonous voice hwan's ever heard.
hwan groans in annoyance.
"listen, it looks good on wooyoung. don't take it off," he protests, his arms snaking around his boyfriend's shoulders.
"it's whatever," san says before locking eyes with wooyoung. "if anything happens to that, you're both dead."
he laughs as he receives a concerned expression.
"i'm kidding. we better get going before we miss the whole party."
san gets up and grabs his keys as the other two boys follow him out of the house, one of hwan's arms around his boyfriend's waist until they reach the car.
"you guys better not drink too much tonight because i'm not repeating what happened last time," san says, looking at the two in the back through the mirror as he starts driving.
hwan just laughs, tracing shapes onto wooyoung's thigh. he remembers how much san had comaplained to him the morning after the last party he'd gone to with them because he'd gotten blackout drunk and threw up all over the bathroom floor. due to that, he hadn't really been invited by san personally to any of the college parties, but now that wooyoung is with him, he supposes san feels a little less worried about him getting wasted again. maybe.
wooyoung rests his head against hwan's shoulder with a giggle, their hands intertwined in his lap as san pulls into the house where the party is being hosted. he puts the car in park and turns the car off.
"we've arrived, idiots. now get out of my car."
hwan rolls his eyes and hops out of the car, wooyoung close behind. he intertwines their hands and starts walking towards the party.
the frat house is huge, even though it only houses 8 people. a lot of the college parties are hosted there—mainly the wild ones. hwan's heard tons of stories including people literally diving off of the balcony and onto one of the couches in the living room...or like, altogether missing a couch and landing smack dab in the middle of the coffee table.
several college students exit these parties completely wasted or even injured. so far, hwan had only had the pleasure of experiencing the first one.
once they enter the house, a strong stench of alcohol and smoke and all things awful for your body hit hwan right in the face, and the music playing is so loud and bass-boosted that he barely processes it when wooyoung taps his wrist to signal him going to join a group of friends.
hwan finds a spot along the wall and makes himself comfortable, shoulders digging into the wallpaper that miraculously is still on the wall and in one piece. where his little group of friends are is beyond him; they always show up early and consume every liquor in sight before he even arrives.
wooyoung is standing a little ways in the distance with a few friends, and hwan smiles at the sight of his boyfriend laughing with them. although, he doesn't quite understand how any of them can hear a word each other are saying over the earrape the dj's got going.
