Before Naiya had met the aspiring hero Kirishima, she was swept up into the scorching lands of Egypt

He was the owner of the blue beetle ring

Naiya had a master who she loved with every fibre of her being, a young male who entrapped her heart, she was a young genie then, the lamp was all she had known. At the time Naiya was found by an elderly man who passed the lamp on to his eldest son granting him gold and riches, everything he could imagine but like others he craved power and became greedy and so he fell

poverty stricken he too had passed the lamp onto his son and for generations the lamp was passed on through that family only for them to submit to the gluttony of power. Only one who was pure of heart could handle the sinister strength of the lamp

His name was Cairo, with honey watered skin and piercing blue eyes he was the second born son of the Pharaoh of Egypt, it was a coming of age gift and soon he was greeted by Naiya

"Thanks to you I will become a great pharaoh"

The two had spent their days together wether it was playing in the court yard or the calm streams of the river Nile, the boy not once asking for one wish. When Cairo was finally given reign over Egypt he promised Naiya after his duties were fulfilled, he'd take her as his bride and free her from the constraints of the lamp

Though that time never came, Cairo was met with assassins, traitors and usurpers, the years darkened him and his wishes became more greedy and self servant, wether it was more military strength or hold over Egypt, he continued to assure Naiya

Assure her that peaceful times were coming and that they could be together watching the sun rise over the great empire

While he governed over Egypt during the simmering days and gave his undying attention to her in the cooling nights, yet despite the sweet tantalising words which rolled off of his tongue, how could the Pharaoh's confidant become his wife.He was a King and she was merely a temporary tool in order to rule

Another young bride was offered to him, Princess Mandisa, she came with status and power, she was a sight to behold a beauty amongst them all

with the impending war from the western land, wedding Mandisa meant a further increase in his land, wealth and military strength, something Naiya would not be able to offer him after his final wish

soon his days were taken up by his betrothed and the young genie was pushed into the shadows, watching the young pharaoh from a far. After decades of hoping he'd break her golden shackles, Naiya watched the love of her life wed another, though no matter his efforts he could not deter those who threatened his kingdom

He grew cold and angry at the world at Naiya

"Can you all do more than stand there and I do not need your reassuring words Naiya"

"I need more power, to defend this kingdom, to defend my people! I refuse to let all these years go to waste"he screamed, throwing a porcelain vase across the room as his advisors tried to calm him

"My king please do not fret, your strength and benevolence will go down in history, you will be known as one of the greatest Pharaohs to ever grace this land even Ra himself will welcome you in the afterlife" one spoke

"yes, yes, he is right"

"My king there is still another way to solve this matter and wipe out these foes once and for all" their gazes settled on Naiya, her eyes closed as if she was in deep thought, the gold which decorated her body glinting in the light"I have one wish left" Cairo muttered, his gaze snapping towards her

"Naiya, Naiya my love, I have one wish left, I will destroy my enemies and leave no trace of them on this earth if you grant me this one wish" over time one's soul begins to darken, decaying slowly until they become a hollow shell of who they once were

Her heart began to shatter, how could she have wished for more, how dare she wish for more, why did she ever think she'd one day be free of these golden chains which bonded her to the lamp

She had no choice but to grant others wishes and never have her own fulfilled "My King, whatever you desire I shall grant" her eyes scanned his own piercing orbs before landing on the woman besides him, The queen who rubbed her swollen stomach

"Give me power, I wish for more power enough to make those who oppose me cower where they stand, so they may bow before me, make me unforgettable"

"Your wish is my command"

unfortunately all magic had a price and both sides must pay, Naiya would return to the lamp to be forgotten for years to come and Cairo would receive what he had asked for. The battle was won but at what cost, Cairo had killed every last man who stood before him but that very strength became his weakness, he became conceited, blinded by his arrogance, he failed to notice those who wish to see his downfall and during his last moments Naiya watched the man she loved dearly writhe in agony

The golden palace set ablaze as a blade pierced through Mandisa's chest her screams rocking through the kingdom, she could do nothing but watch the two of them die a painful death

He became unforgettable, the King who allowed the palace to ignite in a ball of flames which could put the sun to shame, the King who was too blind to see his people suffering, Naiya couldn't forget the King who talked to her tenderly as the two took strolls through the gardens where they had shared their first kiss under the light of the moon

Her hands entangled with his, tears threatening to fall from her pretty coloured eyes, she held the man in her arms, his slow breathing remnants of his life

"My love N—Naiya" he whispered

Naiya couldn't help but feel content, if she had granted him the power he had so craved, he'd be confined to a lamp like she was, wasting his life a way as an immortal entity, she merely freed him from himself "I am here Cairo, rest well my love and allow Anubis to take you to the afterlife peacefully"

The world around her went up in seething flames and soon she would return to her prison, placing a single kiss on his forehead, his weak grip on her hand loosened and she knew he was on a long journey paradise

Cairo was forgotten, merely a word in a history book, his achievements washed away through the sands of time Cairo the forgotten Pharaoh

"My love Cairo the unforgotten King"
