*Vic's P.O.V*
"Jaime, I bet you fifty dollars that you can't drink a whole bottle of whiskey in five minutes or less!"
I glance behind my seat to see Tony and Jaime in the backseat arguing about tonight's party. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the two idiots, who were now giving each other wet willies in each others ears. I turned back around in my seat and looked out my window. Ever since we got off our Collide with the Sky tour, we've been in San Diego mindlessly driving. Mike was of course driving carelessly and it was normal to see him swerve off the road before he jerked us back between the yellow lines. I love touring, but it felt nice to be back in San Diego where I know my surroundings like the back of my hand.
"You're on, fucktard! I'm going to be fifty dollars richer after tonight," Tony said with a wink in his voice. Tony has became more comfortable drinking and I didn't know whether to be proud or worried. Mike had definitely rubbed off on him when it came to partying. I assumed I was the designated driver tonight since the idiots in the back were having a bet with alcohol and I didn't even have to ask Mike if he planned on getting drunk. I looked ahead.
I automatically saw a petite girl who was heading across the street in front of us. She had pale blue hair that looked almost white, and instantly perked up when I saw she was wearing our band merch. The girl was smiling to herself and looked like she was enjoying the weather. I sat up straighter in my seat so I could see more of her. She was about 5'1 and looked fragile. I had a strong urge to just hold her in my arms. I felt a smile spread across my lips, she was so beautiful. More than beautiful, gorgeous. She looked like a girl you read about in novels. I wondered where she was heading to.
I looked over at Mike and saw he was texting instead of paying attention to the road. Normal Mike. He wasn't driving fast, the speedometer only said 45 mph but it still wasn't safe. I was about to snap at him for doing this but before I could say anything to my little brother, a figure hit the car with such force that their backpack flew onto the hood of our rental car. I was shocked and everyone in the car let out a scream before we slung our seat belts off, running out of the car. A young girls' body was limp and sprawled out at our feet. This is the girl I was gawking over a few minutes ago. Fuck.
"Oh my god, we fucking killed someone," Jaime exclaimed with his hands in his hair. He started freaking out, pacing up and down the street.
"Jaime, calm the fuck down! Look, she's alive, she's breathing," Mike said. I could hear his voice crack, it sounded like he was trying to not break down in front of the guys.
"Mike you should have been watching the fucking road anyway! Why are you so calm!? Wait! She's moving," Jaime said, exasperated. He was fidgeting with the zipper of his jacket and wouldn't stop moving. Tony looked like he was about to cry.
"Jaime, calm down. We'll get her in the car and take her to my house real quick to see if she has any serious injuries. If she does we'll take her to the hospital as soon as possible," I placed a hand on Jaime's shoulder. He was tense and I didn't blame him. All us were pale and shaking. We better get her in the car before someone sees this shit.
"Tony, get her in the car. We can't keep staring at her," I looked at Tony to see him nod briefly before bending down.
"I'll put her in the backseat with me and Jaime," Tony said slowly. He picked her up in his arms bridal style and we all jogged to the car. I opened the door for the two of them as Jaime slid in on the other side. Tony handed the lower half of her body to Jaime and accepted her by lying her legs across his lap. Tony sat down on the leather seats and propped her head up with his hands. I shut the back door quickly and jumped in the passenger seat. Everyone was ready to go.
The engine started and the air was tense. I put on my seat belt before looking over at Mike. His eyes were glazed and his knuckles were white from gripping the steering wheel so tight. At least he's keeping his eyes on the road from now on, I thought.
I looked back at Tony and told him to check her for any serious injuries, but to be very careful. He nodded and started to look down at her face like a lost puppy. Right above her brow was starting to bruise, as well as her jawbone. Her hair was tangled and her entire face was pale, which only drew attention to her dry lips. I'm guessing the bruises were a result from her face hitting the pavement. Her shoulder was in an awkward position, so Tony moved her shirt over to the side only to see her collarbones jutting out from underneath the skin. She looked unhealthy and we all noticed, even Mike who was looking in the rear view mirror. When we got to the house we would need to fix her something to eat.
My thoughts of feeding her were interrupted by her lifeless body all of a sudden jolt up to hit her head on the ceiling of the car. I guess Tony had been too quick to see her shoulder, not being very careful, and that woke her up. All at once the car exploded with sincere apologies and explanations of the incident. Mike was cursing at himself, Jaime was again pulling at his hair while yelling at Mike, Tony was awkwardly watching her reaction, leaving me of course to try and calm everyone down.
Her eyes were wide and glassy. A hand fluttered to the side of her head to trace her finger lightly above knot on her head. Her mouth in a small 'o' shape as she realized who we were. Oh, here we go.
