For anyone else, being single may seem like the end of the world or unfulfilling but to Akaashi, it was nice. He didn't need to worry about some annoying girl getting mad at him because he cheated on her in her dream. He didn't need to worry about paying for someone else's meals or buying them gifts. He'd much prefer to talk to his online friends on discord than worry for some girl. He had other things to worry about than some pathetic girl begging for his attention even when he wasn't available, like how he was currently being yelled at by his university professor for once again falling asleep in class.

"Akaashi! This is the 3rd time this week!" His professor yelled him. Akaashi quickly opened his eyes and sat up straight in his seat which was followed by some laughter coming from the others in his class. It was true. he had been falling asleep more in class. He'd been finding himself staying up until 4 AM talking to his online friend, who went by the username of OyaOwl. Personally, Akaashi would not have chosen this name for himself. He prefered simpler names, with his just being Keiji. Nonetheless, Akaashi enjoyed talking to his online friend even if the guy was pretty chaotic, quite a big contrast from his calm and reserved personality.

"I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again..."

His professor sighed and continued on with his lesson.

~ 1 HOUR LATER ~

Class was finally over. Akaashi was finally free. Akaashi picked up his books and started packing them into his backpack. As he was doing this, his friend Yukie came up to him. He'd known her since high school and they'd only really started getting close in university as they both didn't know anyone else there. She was also one of the few girls he seemed to tolerate, which led to many people shipping them or just straight up assuming they were dating. This annoyed Akaashi a lot. He had no romantic feelings towards her. He might have been Bi, but he tended to lean towards men. Yukie was in no way his type.

"Hey, Akaashi. Do you want to walk back to the apartments together?"

"Sure Yukie-san, let me just get packed up first."

Akaashi packed up his stuff and threw his backpack over his shoulder. Him and Yukie walked down and headed towards the exit of the classroom. They walked down the halls, discussing the upcoming test they were to have in around a week. By this point, they had left campus, now walking along the sidewalk.

As they were walking towards the apartments, Akaashi started to notice the orange creeping in on the leaves on the trees around him. It was late september, and autumn had just started. He had to admit,  it was beautiful to look at the trees like this.

"Akaashi, you're single right?" Yukie suddenly asked him.  The question caught him off guard.

"Yeah I am, why do you ask?"

"There's a friend I'd like to set you up with."
