~Gul, 3 years ago~
Gul rested peacefully on his nest, he looked down seeing Blizzard and Star playing together in the morning light "How's everyone doing?" he squawked flying down "Grrrrreat!" Star growled leaping into Gul, but he slipped away before she could do anything "aww, cuttlefish" "Ha! I'm getting to fast for you!" "Oh, but not for me!" another voice was heard then Blizzard pounced on Gul making him shriek.
Blizzard let go laughing uncontrollably and so was Star "Do-i-it-again!" she said with laughs in between. They both were laughing so much the were laying on the floor "Ok, very funny" "Yes it was" Blizzard said and finally stopped laughing but Star kept giggling "Come on Gul! Have some fun, let's go to the great tree" he suggested, Star nodded the shell necklace around her neck bobbed up and down lightly on her chest.
They flew over too the great old Banyan tree, that's where they lived but the journey to the sea they needed to have to sleep for a night, it's been 2 years since the dragons that looked like scorpions came, and 2 years since Star glowed. She didn't glow anymore, just for a bit, there were weird marks on her that glowed, but they disappeared quickly and there was no sign of that happening since then. No sign of those dragons too he thought, they swooped down to the Banyan tree, it was giant, and he meant GIANT.
Star was behind a bit but Blizzard would turn to fly at her speed until she would catch up again.
Star was only 3 and Blizzard was only 4, Gul had taught them how to fly and with the help of some other birds (as long as they promised not to eat them) and they were good fliers, but they were dragons, Gul didn't know if they needed another dragon to teach them how to fly or if they were doing just fine and it was just their age.
They landed, Blizzard landed gracefully and Gul smiled at him in approval then Star came crashing down "RAWK! Your going to need more practice" he muttered, Blizzard helped her get up, Star shook her head aggressively looking dizzy.
"I'm ok!" she chirped, the shell necklace was ok, she held it in her talons smiling "And this is ok!"
They walked around, playing with the other animals then a loud roar was heard. Star had fear in her eyes quickly jumping behind Blizzard shaking, the other birds Gul was flying with shooted for the long grass hiding. Gul flew down with them and Blizzard was down too, Gul wished Blizzard wasn't so shiny and white, he was going to blow their cover.
But Star was darker, but she was too small to cover them up so Gul had told Blizzard to roll in the mud (which he did NOT like) but he looked way more camouflage.
They waited, then something crashed down near them, a dark aqua head popped up from the tall grass "a full grown dragon" Blizzard whispered, and as if the dragoness could hear him she slithered out of the grass, blood along her neck.
She had gills and a thick tail that looked like it could knock them out, just when Gul started thinking how majestic she was and how deadly she looked she howled in pain when she tried getting up falling quickly, they could see her even with the tall grass.
"She's hurt" Star whispered taking a step closer to the dragoness "Don't" Blizzard hissed "We will leave her, let's hope she fly's back to wherever she came from."
But the next day, she tried to fly away her calls and growls heard as they watched her from the Banyan tree. Her wings where ripped, on some parts of her wing only her wing membranes were there, no feathers was one thing but nothing there at all is another, this dragoness wasn't going anywhere.
~Blizzard~
Blizzard growled at the SandWing in his winglet, her name was Quill and he could see why. She kept saying random things at random times which was very annoying.
Finally the teacher a SkyWing named Skyscraper (very nice in his opinion) let them outside for hunting. He knew that the Quartz Winglet would be out hunting too when there done playing music, he couldn't wait to get back to Star.
He flew around looking for fish or birds, like on the isle where he lived all his life, he missed the Banyan tree's, the long grass, the black rocky beach, the crystal waters and the cliffs and waterfalls where there would be plenty of fish. He remembered the Salmon run, something the bears did, they would always join in, there would be plenty of fish but we wouldn't eat them all, or there wouldn't be any next spring.
But here the dragons ate everything and anything, a bear, sharks, goats, sheep, he didn't know why they couldn't all just eat chicken and fish, they tasted way better than bears anyways, and they didn't look at you with "Please don't eat me I have a life too" faces.
Flash, their SkyWing had caught a giant bird in his talons and Blizzard looked away feeling sick, he took one look at the dead bird and remembered Gul.
"What's wrong? Don't like birds?" Flash asked he had dark blood red scales the stripes of orange "No, I like them too much to eat" Blizzard growled.
Quill was with them and had a gecko in her claws "yes, that bird is a mother, her chicks would have a hard time living now" she said, Flash looked down at the bird his eyes worried "Oops"
Blizzard smiled at Quill, she tilted her head like a snake but smiled.
They flew back Flash still had the bird in his talons "It shouldn't go to waste now" he had said, they went back to the rest of the group and there she was "Star!" Blizzard called smiling,
He flew to her wrapping his wings around her "Blizz!" she giggled "Hey I told you about calling me that" he said frowning, eyes where on them but he didn't care, he scowled at them but they didn't seem to care or notice.
"Sorry Blizz" she grinned cheekily.
