During our summer/winter breaks we used to either spend it at our grandfather's place or at our grandfather's place. No that's not a typo. We literally just went there every time of the year when vacation began. It was our number one travel destination.
But this year it was different.
We were going to "GOA"
Goa?
Goa.
GOA?
yes, Goa.
Why is that a shock to you.I can't wait to put my feet on the warm sand letting my hair down, basking in the warmth of the coastal breeze while enjoying a freshly slashed coconut.
But wait I'm only 5.
And it was more about it's churches than it's beaches. (Just like everything should be. Stay away from beaches the one that might break your heart)
So yes, It was a Pilgrimage. Before reaching our destination we had to slight detour. It's not a journey from point A to point B. But a lot of alphabets after A and a lot of scenic scenes from the different railway station and trains. (Sheldon would have enjoyed it)
While traveling to Mumbai we travelled in first class AC. It was my first time to enter into such fine establishment. Did I forgot to mention that sitting in one place becomes boring after few seconds as a child. So naturally, we kids breach out into uncharted lands to satiate our boredom.
There, we found a kid latching onto a box of toys.
Backstory : he and his family were moving and he took it upon himself to get his precious delivered safely. In his box he had all sorts of toys. But none attracted my fellow mates. One did and it was a wood snake dummy. The details on the wood work was so fine that any one could have easily mistaken it to be the real deal. The attachment on the wood pieces of the vertebrate made it wriggled like one and when the pieces of wood struck together it even rattled like one.
So naturally, we left it on a vacant seat to see a reaction. After that I don't remember much maybe it's because of the years that have gone by or the slap I received from my father after my mother refused to get into the compartment on spotting the dummy snake planted by us. But I do remember that the train ride was not boring at all. It was memorable.
So mission successful I guess?
What did it cost?
Everything.
