You followed the insomniac through the door and into a long hallway. It was surprisingly empty for such an important event, with only a couple of stranglers making their way into the rooms that lined the corridor. After all, today, the dreams of many hopeful students would shatter. By those who failed, today would be recalled with grief and heartbreak. Others would remember the exam as the catalyst for their success. As for the Judges, their decisions affect the outcomes of thousands of disasters in the future. Passing the wrong students would mean losing valuable potential.

One thing the Hero Industry and being a villain have in common is you can't afford to make mistakes.

You watched as your chaperone stopped in front of a large blue door.

"We might be here for a while; you might wanna use the bathroom or I don't know, grab a snack." He wasn't sure why, but Hazel had asked him to mention food for a treat. You only smirked in return carefully removing your backpack, making sure not to damage any of your goodies.

"You forget who raised me. Hazel always taught me to keep a crap ton of food on my person at all times." You removed a package of cat-shaped cookies offering it to the raven-haired man in front of you. "Take it; Hazel told me you were a fan of cats."

"Thanks," he replied calmly returning your kind gesture with a small smile. You followed him into the examination room, a kind gentleman in formal wear handed you both a pamphlet. Aizawa kindly refused it, while you studied its contents. Ahh, so it's a point-based system with robots. Hmmm. Your eyes drifted to a section labelled 'Rescue points' skimming the text. Interesting, they figured out a way to test their heroic qualities without making it overt. They effectively filtered out any students faking it for the points, very clever. You had to give it to UA; they had their shit together.

Both you and Aizawa carefully made your way to the back of the room as not to disturb the judges. The room was rather large with rows of bulky chairs facing a large screen adjacent from the doorway. The screen ran wall to wall and was currently displaying multiple angles of various empty cities. Damn between these and the huge-ass building I can't tell which one would cost more. UA must be loaded.

"It will be about half an hour more before the participants make it to the examination grounds. Wake me up when you see an extremely annoying blond on that display." He pointed back at a monitor displaying a pillar. You nodded, wait is that a sleeping bag??? You ogled observing the full-grown man slide into his orange sleeping bag before immediately dozing off. Where the hell did that even come from??? You watched as personnel walked past without acknowledging the very unconscious man taking refuge on the floor.

"Oh hey y/n, Hazel didn't tell me you would be joining us." You looked up to see none other than pro-hero Midnight. "Oh, I didn't know, you knew Shota as well. What other secrets have you been hiding." You chuckled earning a noogie from the rather lewd hero.

"Shut up woman, can't you see I'm napping here." His groggy voice interrupting your well overdue reunion.

"Sorry, Auntie Kayama, it was all rather sudden." Midnight and your guardian were rather close during their time at UA. Funnily enough, both of them wanted their hero name to be Midnight; it wasn't until after Kayama bribed your adoptive mother with ice cream that she would give it up. Midnight even had a hand in raising you, whether that was a good or bad thing is debatable.

"I heard you got excepted through recommendations. I knew you could do it kiddo." She congratulated, pulling you into a hug. "And don't tell anyone I told ya, but I'm going to be one of your teachers." She whisper-squealed the last part.

"Are you sure about this Auntie, your not exactly... how do I put it, kid-friendly." A class full of hormonal teenagers and an even more hormonal teacher... What could go wrong?

"Oh don't sweat the details, honey. Besides can't you tell I modified my hero outfit." She motioned to her attire before pulling out her dandy whip and striking a pose. She was wearing a thin skin-tight bodysuit with a spiked black and red collar that went down into a corset. She had high knee boots and broken handcuffs around her wrists for style. Well, at least she's trying. You thought to yourself, but before you could make a snarky remake, the lights dimmed, and principal Nezu walked in signalling everyone's attention.

"Alright folks, this is the next generation of heroes we're working worth so stay sharp." The principal made his way to the front row of chairs sitting beside a frail man with blond hair. Something about him seemed familiar; however, you were too preoccupied with waking up the insomniac to dig further. You looked back up at the screen now noticing seven of the angle shots now displayed participants preparing. You watched as they all dashed into the city already attacking the onslaught of robots, all except one. The green-haired boy you met before took a moment before following the rest; you took note. Your eyes shifted higher on the screen, focusing on a particular destructive blondie decimating everything in front of him. He was an incredibly good fighter with a destructive quirk to boot. His quirk, in particular, caught your interest; you definitely would enjoy using it in the future.

It only took ten minutes before the majority of robots were defeated, and from what you had noticed, the freckled boy still stood with 0 points. You watched as the many other participants raced around the city to destroy what little was left in a last-minute effort to make the cut. There was now ten minutes remaining, and he still had yet to gain a single point.

"We are now releasing the 0 zero pointers. Stay vigilant everybody." The mouse announced pressing a button on the side of his arm-rest. You watched as the aspiring heroes bolted away from the machines. Your eyes shot to the brunette you ran into earlier caught beneath the rubble. She struggled under the debris meters away from the one pointers' impending form; a look of worry painted your face as you watched everyone else run, leaving her to fend for herself. Much to your surprise, the freckled boy rushed to help her. He leapt into the air, cracking the ground beneath him. His feet dangled behind him as he lifted his fist to deal the finishing blow on the mechanical opponent. It was nothing short of astounding; you couldn't help but gawk at the sheer power the timid boy possessed. However, you noticed Aizawa's reaction was much different than yours. He was not pleased with how the judges graded his 'rescue'. His face looked even more annoyed if that was even possible. The frightened child plunged unable to save himself from the height due to his extensive injuries. Chances of survival were damn near impossible; you watched as he plummeted towards the concrete streets tears streaming from his face. A slap echoed through the city as the freckled boy began to hover above the ground before dropping from a less dangerous height. It appeared as though the round face brunette used her quirk to save the timid boy. However, it was apparent she had overused her quirk. A sickening look adorned her face before she immediately started to throw up a glittery substance. Time was up at this point. The rest of the participants surrounded the injured boy who lay limp on the ground. His broken limbs were sprawled unnaturally on the concrete. A shorter woman with a clear visor and needle-like cane made her way through the crowd of participants. You recognized her immediately as Recovery Girl; you had visited her an embarrassing amount of times as a kid. The sweet-natured hero leaned down and kissed the boy, and immediately his body began to heal itself. Her quirk was always a sight to behold. It was one you would never be able to use and that fascinated you the most.

"I'm done here, I'm going home for a nap," Aizawa announced his hands instinctively reaching for his pockets. You looked up at his face, his expression much more annoyed than before, almost frightening.

"Alright I'm gonna head home too, don't want to miss Hazel's cooking." You chuckled awkwardly, trying desperately to lighten the mood.

"Thank you for the opportunity to spectate." He smiled back waving as he left the room. "Bye Auntie, don't overwork yourself mkay." you carefully grabbed your back from the floor making sure not to leave anything behind.

"Say Hi to your mother for me," She smiled before turning back to continue her conversation with one of the other pro-heroes.

The entrance of the school was still, not a person in sight. It was peaceful; you figured the participants were on their way back. You smiled to yourself, staring back at the gate on the way out. The UA symbol was plastered on the arc leading into the school.

Being a hero, huh. I hope you're right about this mom.
