The roaring and snarling of the clan dragons had been muffled by the storm, but the clap of the wind in their wings was deafening. Vivial, who had been snoring in the back of the cave where the human was caged, lifted her head off of the cold rock. "W-what... What is that?" She grumbled sleepily. Lukathis, who had been frozen in fear, for what the clan would do to him for fleeing with her, lifted his head to look at her. "It's the clan." He said. The mountain drake looked around, and said, " There is nowhere to run.... Unless you go back there." He gestured to the dark stone labyrinth.
Lukathis grunted. "They would find us eventually. We could sneak out into the storm, but they may see us." The drake stretched his hind legs, "That seems like suicide." He walked over to the child, who was curled up in her stone cage. "We should take her if we do." Lukathis stood firm. "What if she gave away our position?" The two dragons where about to get into a full blown brawl. The drake bared his teeth, and Lukathis spread his wings and shook his tail. The drake roared, "They will kill her, or use her, like they used the other! We have to protect her, or there will be another war!" Lukathis thrashed his tail and bared his fangs, "Then lets kill her now!" Lukathis moved torwards the cage and stretched out his claws.Vivial was there in a split second. She stood in front of Lukathis and the drake. "No. Don't hurt her." Vivial said shakily, and wrapped her tail around the cage. The little girl shuddered. "Vivi..., let me get rid of it. Humans have hurt you more than you know. More than that scar on your tail." Lukathis said. "Wha- what do you mean?" Vivial said.
"Yes, Lukathis. What are you trying to tell this hatchling?" Said a voice behind them. The dragons and drake turned around. Behind them, about half a dozen clan dragons stood. "You wouldn't, perhaps, be breaking an oath you made to me, would you?" Said a tall, slender blue dragon in the front. He stepped forward quickly and put his claws up to Lukathis's throat. "The oath that you told me you wouldn't break" He said fiercly. "The one about Her." He dug his claws into Lukathis's flesh. Blood was pooling around their claws. "Ca- Caliux, please!" Lukathis choked.
"You're killing him!" Vivial rushed at the blue dragon, Caliux. Before she could help Lukathis, she was grabbed by two gray dragons, each of them digging their claws into her shoulder blades. "No!" She cried, as Lukathis's blood poured to the ground. The mountain drake stood, paralyzed, in horror.
Caliux released Lukathis. Lukathis fell to a bleeding heap on the floor, and The blue dragon, the leader, faced Vivial. "Haha! Blood. I've been wanting to ruin a dragon for years!" Caliux cackled. "I wish it was yours, but the entire village wants to see yours shed. I've even been told that they want to tie your skin to a pole and dangle it over the arena!" Caliux chuckled at the disgusted look on Vivial's face. Lukathis laid silent in his own blood. The blue dragon walked over to the drake.
"What are you dong here? Your kind was banished, or hunted to extinction. I don't remember which. I'll say it was the latter." Caluix moved as fast as a bullet and dug his claws into the drakes soft belly. The drake collapsed and screeched in pain. Caliux grabbed the drake by his neck and threw him bodily out the mouth of the cave, and into the snow storm. He wasn't visible anymore, but all of the dragons heard the muffled thump of the drake landing in the snow. The clan dragons turned, and looked back at Caliux. Caliux walked over to Lukathis, careful to step on Vivial's tail. Vivial winced, but kept silent, waiting for any sound that her friends were still alive. Caliux stooped over Lukathis, and gently felt his neck. "Haha, Lukie! I knew I couldn't kill you that easily!" Vivial sighed with relief. "But that means we can use you in the arena! Maybe we can have you fight Giantius! Or better yet, we could have you fight Vivial over here! You better hope you die on the flight!" He roared delightedly.
"Flight?" Vivial said, concerned for Lukathis. "Yes, my dear Vivial. We are going to take you back home, where you belong, in our arenas!" Caliux said, grinning evilly at her.
"Gatre, Vendiq!" Caliux roared, causing the two gray dragons to jump. "You two take Lukathis here, and mind his wings, they tear so easily," He said, running his fore claw down Lukathis's left wing, cutting a long line through it. "I'll take Vivial" Caliux said, trotting over to her, and grabbing her by her neck.
The clan dragons lined up beside Caliux, and spread their wings in unison. They took flight, Caliux in the lead, his claws digging into Vivial's back. Vivial looked back at the cave, and thought she saw a drake laying in the snow, a red ring around him.
