*Third Person limited omniscient POV*
"The one who killed Sakura...was Sakura herself."
Byakuya, as much as he didn't want to admit it, was shocked that he didn't figure it out sooner than Makoto. How...did he do that? How is he so good at seeing past the mastermind's despair to find the truth? How is he so hopeful?
While Byakuya's mind was riddled with questions, Makoto and the others were busy listening to Monokuma as he read out the final words of Sakura's will.
"I will not go down without a fight."
Wow, Makoto thought, she did all that...I won't let your death be in vain, Sakura, we'll definitely make it out of here alive.
After reading Sakura's will and witnessing Alter Ego's execution, everyone was tired and distraught so they went back to their rooms. Byakuya, however, was more focused on the trial's result. Before Makoto could get halfway to his dorm, he was stopped by him, asking how he came to the conclusion that Sakura killed herself when not even he, Byakuya Togami, considered it.
"Uhm, I-I don't really know, I just tried to consider all possibilities and when I combined my idea with the evidence we found, everything just kinda clicked," Makoto said.
"Hmph, a reckless way of doing things, but I suppose you still got it right, so that's fine. Get some rest, I have something to discuss with you tomorrow."
"Uh, I- okay. Goodnight Byakuya, see you tomorrow!" Makoto smiled before going into his room and closing the door behind him.
"Yeah, see you tomorrow."

*Makoto's POV*
I woke up that morning feeling refreshed and ready to explore the fifth floor. I was upset that Sakura killed herself but I couldn't think about that right then, I needed to make sure she didn't die for nothing. I quickly got ready for the day and sprinted to the dining hall to meet the others.
When I got there I realized I was the last one to arrive. "Sorry I'm late," I said sheepishly.
"It's about time, did you forget a new floor opened up? We were all waiting."
"Don't listen to Byakuya, Makoto! He jumps at any excuse to be rude; he arrived just before you did!" Hina encouraged.
"Oh, is that so?" I laughed nervously, 'that sounds like Byakuya, alright.'
"Who cares," Hiro added impatiently, "Let's get to exploring the fifth floor already!"

After we all met up in the dining hall to report what we found on the fifth floor, everyone went off to do their own thing. I went back to my dorm to put away the knife the others gave me. I was honestly kinda shocked when Byakuya said I was trustworthy and that's why they were telling me to hold onto it, but it felt more like I was being used.
I hid the knife in the drawer of my desk before I remembered that Byakuya said he wanted to speak to me today.
I left my dorm and set off to find Byakuya. I went to the only place where he could be, the library on the second floor. I walked in and, sure enough, there he was.
"Ah, Makoto, you're here."
"Yeah, uh, what did you want to talk to me about?" I responded.
"Well, your performance at the trial yesterday was quite intriguing so I thought, since I already told you so much about the Togami corporation and how it works, you should tell me something unexpected about yourself." Byakuya explained.
