Jungkook sighed as he looked in the mirror. It was nothing fancy, just a white shirt tucked into a pair of black ripped jeans. He wondered why it took him and Mark to walk around twenty different stores just to find that but it did. "Yugyeom should like it... I hope at least."
Before leaving his bedroom he grabbed his jacket from his bed and left his room, finding his boyfriend sitting on the sofa and playing on his phone. "Brownie...? I'm ready."
Yugyeom hummed and got off the chair, smiling at the brunet. "Great! Let's go!"
Jungkook nodded, smiling at him although he was frowning on the inside. "I thought he would compliment me at least..." Jungkook thought but he decided to not ponder on it any longer or else he will get sad.
"Y-you look nice." Jungkook complimented, forcing a grin before he followed behind Yugyeom out to the car.
"Don't I always?" He joked, not catching onto Jungkook's hints.
"I wanted to be complimented." He waited a bit longer but he was left hopelessly waiting for something that didn't seem to be coming anytime soon.
"I wonder if Tae would have complimented me..." Jungkook shook that thought out of his head. He was being stupid for thinking about someone that never liked him in the first place. Still, memories of Taehyung would often occupy his mind.
"Are we there yet?" Jungkook queered, looking out the window, it was insanely dark and it also looked cold. He was glad that he brought his jacket.
"Almost, just play on your phone or something in the meantime." Yugyeom replied, making Jungkook frown deepen. He didn't want to make a scene out of it so he took out his phone.
He found himself mindlessly swiping through Instagram before he horribly got bored and switched to surfing the Internet. Jungkook couldn't stop his fingers from typing into the search bar "why doesn't my boyfriend like me anymore?"
He doesn't completely know what led him to this but he did and when was given results, he wasn't very happy with them.
"A lack of sexual intercourse can cause a change in a relationship." Jungkook cleared his search history. He doesn't believe it. He and Yugyeom are so young, he refuses to even acknowledge that that may be the cause. "Yugyeom wouldn't be interested."
"We're here." The latter announced. They both got out of the car before Brownie locked it and swung an arm around the brunet's shoulder, pulling them closer together. "Are you excited, baby?"
Jungkook nodded his head as his eyes stayed glued to the not so interesting paved floor as he was dragged into the hotel's lobby where they were redirected to the party hall which is where the dance was being held.
"I can't believe our school rented out such an elegant place for a school's dance." Yugyeom awed, causing Jungkook to lift his head up for the first time since they left the car. Jungkook was struck with awe as well.
He was right- it was far too fancy for a school dance that he was actually really impressed. Fairy lights decorated the whole venue, followed by simple streamers and large platinum coloured helium balloons. A small cluster of spotlights caught Jungkook off guard when they slowly moved back and forth to random areas of the room. Jungkook couldn't even begin to explain how he felt when he saw a fog machine.
"It's so cool!" Jungkook excitedly exclaimed as he subtly ran over to the fog machine and started waving his hand in front of the nozzle, giggling as he felt the white fog slip through his fingers. "Wow... I wonder if I can eat this stuff..."
"Jungkook, get away from it." Yugyeom muttered, pulling Jungkook back by the collar.
Jungkook nodded with a sigh, he just wanted to play around a bit. "Sorry..." he bit his bottom lip as he continued to stare at the slick finished wooden flooring, digging his fingernails into the palm of his hand. "I'll be good."
