A few weeks later, Miss Carter announced that everyone in the class must do a project related to chemistry (obviously) with their lab partners.
“It will be included in your next examination. So do your best. Oh, and no explosions or blowing up anything,” Miss Carter looked at Drake and Lix while she said that.
For the past few weeks, things have been normal. Liz and Drake talked and she was sure that she wasn't falling for him. Which was good for Liz because she needs someone more of her type.
“So, any ideas?” Drake asked.
“As long as we don't blow anything up,” she replied jokingly.
He laughed. “But, seriously. Any ideas?”
She thought for a moment but nothing came to her mind.
“No. You?”
“I might have an idea or two. Do you want simple and easy or hard and complicated?”
“What do you think?” she said with a smile.
“Simple and easy then. We'll – ”
Just then, the bell rang, cutting him off mid sentence.
“Can we meet after school at the library? We'll talk about it then,” he said.
Liz thought about it. It's Wednesday and she doesn't have cheerleading practice after school.
“Why not?”
“Okay. See you,” he waved and went out of the class.
