I dragged myself to the Coffee shop near my office that I regularly visit. It's Thursday and I am completely and utterly done. I am simply done with this job and my life.
You say that every day...
The bell chimed as I pushed the door open, stepping into the coffee shop, the sweet and strong aroma of coffee engulfing me in its warmth, welcoming me, already soothing my nerves.
Coffee has this kind effect on me, calming my nerves and dulcify my anger, ensnaring me into a serene state.
The murmurs of occupants on the table, scraping of chairs reached my ears as soon as I stepped in, the mixed aroma and chatter swirling in the air, the scuffing of shoes against the wooden floor distracting yet indicating the rush afternoon hour, the small and cosy shop brightened by the sunlight cutting through the room, pouring inside through floor-length glass windows covering the whole left side of the shop, particles dancing in the sun rays streaming in through the open door left by a customer.
I moved to the simple yet classy, just like the whole coffee shop, counter and ordered a latte before almost all occupied seats around the shop, switching on my phone, checking text messages and E-mails as I waited for my order.
"Here you go" a young girl passed me my coffee. I smiled and thanked her before paying my bill.
I turned around with the coffee in my hand and bumped right into a hard chest.
A low shriek escaped my lips as my coffee slipped from my fingers, I immediately jumped back with a horrified expression as 'my coffee', my coffee, falls on the ground with a plash.
Oh fucking great. Just.....GREAT. This day is turning into a fucking disaster!!!.
I glared at 'my coffee' on the ground, vexed at my bad luck, before moving my eyes up to look at the bane of my existence, at least just for now.
My eyes widened with recognition as I come across a familiar pair of hazel eyes. Those same hazel eyes staring back at me with recognition written all over his face.
Oh for the love of God!! That guy. Why him, anyone but him.
Now, not only the fact that he probably thinks that I am weird, but he also thinks I am clumsy. And the fact that I probably embarrassed myself back at the bar, doesn't really help my case.
Ughhhh. I hate my life.
Andrea, you don't even know him. It really doesn't matter what he thinks of you.
You're right.
"Fuck" he muttered under his breath as he looked down at 'my coffee' on the floor before moving his eyes up, looking at me almost apologetically. Almost.
"I am sorry, I'll buy you another one. I wasn't looking where I was going" he said, giving me an apologetic smile.
Yup. Do that. That was my coffee!.
"No... It's really...fine. I'll just buy another one" I said, giving him a quick forced smile before apologising to the cleaner who just came to clean up our mess.
I turned around to buy another coffee but before I can say anything, the guy appeared beside me.
"Seriously, let me just buy this for you. Take it is as an apology" he insisted.
Okay, too much for an apology I guess but if he really wants to, then I guess it's fine by me.
I nodded, shrugging, before moving aside, creating some space at the counter for other people.
