There's a fort in the middle of the room, the lights are off and the room is illuminated only by string lights which are hang everywhere. There is an assortment of food and drinks on a picnic blanket.
Charlotte: w..wh..what's all this?
The words barely make it out this time. There's a huge lump in her throat.
Henry: well since you're leaving tomorrow, I thought i'd give you a little surprise
Charlotte: it's so beautiful!!! Oh even glow in the dark stars?
Henry: yeah! since your senior night in desert didn't go so well, I recreated it for you but this time no Mitch bilsky and Miss shapen. Just the stars!!!
Charlotte: thank goodness
She's breathless.
Charlotte: did.........you do this all by yourself?
Henry: nope, piper, jasper and my parents helped me hence the texts all day.
Charlotte: I'm surprised jasper didn't insist on being a part of this
Henry: oh he did! In fact he wants me to do the exact same thing for him when he's about to leave
Charlotte laughs
Charlotte: classic jasper!
Henry: yeah, well come on now miss Page!!! Let me show you what we're working with here!!
Henry takes Charlotte's hand leading her to the fort and picnic area. He pushes down the thought of it being the last time he's ever going to hold her hand. well for a year anyway. They sit on the floor.
Henry: okay!!! Now you may be looking at the the food and thinking, well this is Super random
Charlotte: hmm.....now that I think about it!!! It is!!!!
Henry: ah ah ah its not actually! See every single piece of food on this blanket has a significant meaning to the both of us!!!
Charlotte: oh?
Henry: oh yes! For example! We have burgers from joyful burger, the same burgers you bought when we thought the world was going to end, and here we also have a stick of butter with sprinkles on it!!!!
Charlotte let's out a laugh when remembers how she actually ate that.
Charlotte: what was I thinking eating that?
Henry: I don't know man you're pretty weird!and over here we have some brown soup from your nearly disastrous birthday surprise, courtesy of Jasper's mom, who still has not told us what the secret ingredients are!!! Not gonna lie I'm kinda scared to ask at this point!!!
Charlotte: ah me too!!! But the soup is so good!!!
Henry: so good!!! And over here we have some popcorn from the time I accidentally sent piper a video of me and ray transforming into our super suits.
Charlotte: a video I told you not to do!!!!
Henry: a video you told me not to do and a video that was not worth the weeks of literal torture I suffered by piper's hand because at the end of the day, it turns out you suck at taking videos!!!
Charlotte: hahahahahahahahaha oh yeah....that was a big o'waste of time, wasn't it?!!
Henry: ye...ah!!!!
They laugh for a little while together.
Henry: and in the fridge we have some fudge blast frozen yogurt from the time you threw away the one you got me because I said you couldn't do my job cause you were a girl
Charlotte: a stupid comment
Henry: a very stupid comment cause you ended up doing my job quite well
Charlotte: yes, some may say I did it even better than you
Henry: no one said that!
Charlotte: please I owned it!!!
Henry: you rented it at best!!!
Charlotte: agree to disagree
Henry: fine...fine...and also in the fridge we have the same ice cream cake from my disaster of a birthday!
Charlotte: What??? its still there?
Henry: surprisingly yes!
Charlotte: ha! I thought your dad would try to eat it
Henry: oh he did! I had to fight him off......yeah... He bit me, it was not pretty
Charlotte: ouch! Are you okay?
Henry: its healing, its healing and over here, we have some gummy bears that you always keep next to your closet door but those are mine. A little something for me to remember you
Charlotte: aaw
Henry: and finally we have some lobster from Fred lobster because piper has a life time supply cause of her commercial
Charlotte : ooh bougie
Henry: we bougie like that! Psssh....You thought your last meal in swellview was going to be basic?
Charlotte: hehehehe apparently not!!!! Oh did you guys ever get around to watching piper's commercial?
Henry: nope! And she's still pissed about that
Charlotte: I can only imagine!!!
Charlotte smiles as she takes everything in, its beginning to hit her that she's leaving her hometown and everyone she knows tomorrow! Its making her eyes teary.
Henry: hey....hey.......no....crying remember? Only happy vibes here!!!!
Charlotte: I know, I know its just that all this is so beautiful.......thank you so much
Henry: you're my best friend, any time
Charlotte: it feels a little weird though......I'm so used to helping you set these things up for your dates, all two of them
Henry: hey!!! I went out on many dates!!!
Charlotte: sure....he he its just weird I'm not used to being the one you set these things up for .....wait.....is this why you couldn't help me pack up my stuff?
Henry: yep! That and also I'm lazy!
Charlotte: boo!!!!
Henry laughs! Trying to mask the real reason why he didn't help her pack. He couldn't bring himself to do it, it would have broken him even more.
Charlotte: hello? You spaced out there!
Henry: right sorry! Okay! are you ready to take the first bite out of the last burger you'll ever have in swellview?
Charlotte: I'm ready!!!
They both lift their burgers to their mouths and take a bite
