When lunch came around there was no sign of Nessa anywhere so she sat alone. She took the time to do homework and other assignments.
"Excuse me assholes." Ian says to his brothers as he gets up from the table. He goes over to sit next to Nika.
"Hey Amor. What are you working on?" Nika looks at him feeling his warmth again.
"Homework."
"Is that burn there from the other day?" Nika recalls checking her skin in the mirror that night and shakes her head no.
"Wonderful."
Nika continues her work not knowing what all to say.
"I admire how you walk around in a school with more vampires than humans in it. And somehow feel safe. It intrigues me honestly." Ian shrugs.
"I don't necessarily feel safe, I just come here and hope for the best really."
"And how's that working out for you?"
"So far so good."
Sean comes over to the table tapping her shoulder.
"Can I talk with you for a minute?" He asks her.
"Um yes. It was nice talking with you Ian."
"Right back at ya." He says before they leave.
Nika follows Sean into the empty hall.
She leans against the wall and waits for him to speak.
"I've been thinking about you a lot lately,"
"We can't."
"Wait just let me finish. I am so sorry for everything. For the thing with your family. I just need your attention."
"By turning my family against me? How thoughtful of you." She rolls her eyes.
"I know it was stupid of me."
"Stupid? Try psychotic."
"I wouldn't go that far." He shrugs.
"You literally turned my parents and my siblings in order to get me to even talk to you. That just doesn't sit right with me." She crosses her arms over her chest.
Sean sighs deeply and places his hands on her hips. He pushes her father into the wall.
"Let me make it up to you." He says softly leaning in.
"Ah hell no." She ducks and maneuvers out from under him.
"Miss me with that bullshit. Sean." He grabs her arm tightly.
"Nika-"
"Let me go." His grip tightens.
"Just talk to me."
"No. Now let me go or I will get Andrew to pull your spine out of your arse." He groans and drops her wrist.
Nika turns on her heels and walks off to choir.
Her anger slowly dissipating on the way.
She stops dead in her tracks when Timothy appears in front of her.
"Hey darling. How about I walk you to class yeah? Great." He takes her hand in his.
