Strike: an Asgardian's Adventure [Completed]

Chapter 6

First (and only) real chapter!

One day, Emily was scheduled by Fury to meet Thor and Spiderman. She had wanted to meet Thor for years, to apologize for her parents crimes and to learn more about her home. It was more recently she had learned about Spiderman. He was a teen hero, much like she wanted to be. Just then, there was a knock on her door. They were meeting in her room at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

"Hello?" She spoke up. A large man with blonde hair and a beer gut walked into the room.

"You must be Emily. My names Thor."

"I know you're name! I'm from Azgard, like you. But my parents were traitors and tried to kill you but they failed and were to be banished but then they committed suicide so I was banished alone and I'm so sorry for the treason my parents committed! I've wanted to meet you because I feel horrible my parents were such scum to you and your family and I'm sorry."

"You're the young girl who was banished?"

"Yes, when I was 4. But, I'm older now and more mature. I've learned what's right and wrong."

"I see. So, director Fury said you have a talent, what is it?"

"Well, I'm able to create electricity from all over my body and I shoot lightning from my hands. Also I'm bulletproof, fireproof, and can't be frozen."

"Really? And how can you do that?" He laughed. He looked at me like I was stupid. I'm not stupid.

"When I was 4 I was captured and experimented on. The scientists had read stories about Thor, son of Oden and when I said I was from Azgard they believed I had powers like yours. When they realized I was an ordinary kid they filled me with chemicals and electrocuted me until I possessed similar powers to yours. Then they constantly dunked me in a vat of acid until I was almost invincible."

"You're joking. No one would do that to a child."

"I wish I was joking. They called me A53, they didn't think I was important enough to have a name. Fury was the one who named me."

"So these powers, can you show me?"

"Sure, but we might need to go in here." I walked into my training area. Everything is padded and made so I won't start a fire or mess up the electricity in the tower. All hidden behind a door that looks like a closet.

I walked to the center of the room and concentrated. I let sparks fly from all over me. My hair started to float, my eyes began to glow, and my skin turned to gold. I aimed a bolt at a dummy that was sitting in the corner of the room. I easily burned it to a crisp.

"Woah." I looked behind me at Thor. My hair fell back down, my eyes stopped glowing, and my skin returned to normal.

"Cool, right?"

"It's amazing. And, you can't be burned, shot, or frozen?"

"Nope!"

"So your basically invincible?"

"Well no, I can still be stabbed, but my I can heal pretty fast so it's pretty hard to hurt me. Plus dad taught me some combat techniques."

"Director Fury?"

"Yep!"

There was a distant knock.

"Emily?" She walked out of her training area and opened her bedroom door.

"Spiderman?"

"Oh, well, you can just call me Peter, but yeah, I'm Spiderman. Director Fury told me about you having powers. Can you show me?" Thor waved goodbye to Peter and Emily and walked out of her room.

Emily led Peter into the training room and showed him her powers and explained how she got them.

"You're from Azgard? Like Thor?"

"Yep! But I was raised here on Midgard."

"Midgard?"

"Oh, Earth, sorry."

"So, do you think you could battle me?"

"Powers or no powers?"

"Well, since you suggested it, let's try no powers first."

Peter and Emily fought for a good 7 minutes before she finally pinned him to the ground. Then they did a round using powers, this time it only took Emily about 45 seconds to win.

"Woah you're good."

"You're pretty good yourself."

"Why hasn't director Fury let you help fight?"

"Dad is scared I could get hurt or killed by a villain. He doesn't want to risk me not being ready for battle."

"You seem more ready for battle than I do! We could really use your help in the Avengers."

"Are you-"

"Yes, I'm inviting you to become an Avenger. But before that, we need to figure you out a hero name."

"I've already got it covered. I am Strike."
