Glass Wall

Beyond the glass wall between us,
I see this girl who faces the world,
Full of heart, full of smiles,
But beneath those smiles,
Hides a deep sadness.

I understand her pain well,
Even if we don't talk about it,
Not as much on our conversations,
She often looks after my welfare,
Reminding me of who I am.

She really cares for me,
Maybe not showing much,
As the same goes for me,
We still have walls between us,
Transparent, semi-thick walls.

But as time passes us by,
We allow each other to see glimpses,
To each other's soul, making it easy,
Not trying to cross the lines, yet,
Just enough to trust each other.

Maybe time will come,
That we are able to break it,
The glass wall between us,
It will take a lot to do it,
But time is at our side.
