One year later

"Did you two just fuck in the elevator?" Jackie asks me as I walk into the lounge room of the production company that has picked up our story, now titled, "You're Not My Daddy." I love her blunt sense of humour, mine is just as blunt and as dry as hers is. "Didn't you and Clyde fuck in the laundry room when we are all in Greece last year?" I respond, she looks at me horrified, as if we all didn't know. The whole island must have heard Jackie's moans and Clyde's grunts that afternoon. Toby is behind me, he puts his arms around my waist and nuzzles my neck. "Jackie, leave my woman alone, will you?" He smiles at her and she jokingly responds, "I'm only asking a simple question, Toby, no need to shoot me down." He scans the room and notices someone is missing, "Where's Logan?" Hannah jumps in, "He had to work this weekend, no rest for that wicked bartender of ours." It's so nice us all being together again, it is a rarity these days as I'm living in Malibu California with Toby and the girls are still based in West Virginia. They are living their normal lives whilst this movie is in production, once everything has been confirmed and green lit we will all receive five million dollars each. Ruby is sat on the sofa nearest to the door with her headphones in on a Skype call, I'm assuming to Charlie. I wave, she beams at me and mouths "Five minutes." The rest of us go into the board room next door to start our meeting.

"So, as you are all aware, we have handpicked the cast ourselves and we would just like your feedback on our decisions." Murray, one of the producers, is arrogant as fuck with his no nonsense, it's my way or the highway approach. He turns on his PowerPoint presentation and to my horror I can see the lineup that he had chosen. "Reese Witherspoon as Ruby?!" I can't hide the anger from my face or voice, I glance over at Toby who is seated next to me, he leans back in his chair and raises his eyes to the ceiling, he had no clue about this either. "Murray, come on. Ruby is thirty, not fifty, and I thought we agreed that Bryce Dallas Howard would play Ruby?" Says Toby. Murray just shrugs and says, "If you want this movie to be big, we need the biggest stars. Reese Witherspoon, Zoë Kravitz, Shailene Woodley and Nicole Kidman smashed "Big Little Lies" with their on-screen chemistry. Just trust me, this will work." I look over at Hannah who is fuming like I am, "What about Adam Driver, he was meant to be cast too?" She says, whilst giving Murray the evil eye. He responds, "Mr Driver has just come out of an intense court case battle with that merchandise girl, he is not interested in starring in anything at the moment. Justin Timberlake is perfect." I have to say something, "Big Little Lies is a series based on housewives, do we look like housewives to you?! We've given you everything you wanted with our POV's and these endless meetings, can't you just do something for us?" Murray has never liked me, I'm sure he thinks that I am a gold digger. He points his finger and looks at me with disdain, "Listen lady, just because you are fucking the director doesn't mean you get to call the shots around here." Before I can register what is happening Toby is up out of his chair and has pinned Murray to the wall. "You speak to her like that again and your head will go through that fucking window!" Matt and Randy, the other two producers, are pulling Toby away from Murray, "All of you women are cheap, fame hungry, money grabbing trailer trash," Murray says before he storms out of the room and nearly slams into a clueless Ruby. She looks in on us sheepishly and asks, "Guys, what did I miss?" Toby is back by my side, his hand is interlocked with mine, he looks over at Ruby and sighs, "Ruby, you don't want to know. Come on, let's get out of here, I'm starving." I can see a smirk from Hannah and she says, "Yeah, you're not you when you're hungry are you, Toby?" We all laugh. Ever since my first night with Toby it has been a running joke with all of us, the infamous Snickers bar that drove me into the arms of Toby Grummett.

Before we head home Toby suggests that we go to the music studio so the girls can listen to a song that I have written and I will record for the movie. I have never considered myself a talented singer, but once I was living with Toby permanently, he heard me singing whilst I was making dinner one night and convinced me to write and sing a song that will feature in our film. The song is about not giving up, being thankful for what you have and seeing how glorious the world can be. The girls are all eager to hear me sing it; they are sat across from me on the other side of the booth whilst Toby is to my left speaking with the manager.

I start singing and I can see Hannah shaking her head in shock. She didn't realise that I could sing. Ruby and Jackie are smiling, I can't make out what they are saying but I know they're impressed. I get to the end of the song and there is a moment that is coming up that Toby loves; I glance in his direction and as predicted; he stops speaking to the manager, and gazes seductively at me.

"When the time is right, when there's no way out

And I am losing something I ain't got

When the love is gone and I'm all alone

I give it everything, I'll give you everything now

When the time is right, when there's no way out

I give it everything, I'll give you everything now...."

He sits back in his chair and bites the top of the pen that is in his hand, giving me a look that says I will be fucked hard later. I finish the song and everyone in the room claps; I feel embarrassed and suggest that we all go back to our place.

We all retreat back to mine and Toby's beachfront house, which has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, our own private pool and an unbelievable view of the sea. After we went back to the Edison hotel that night, Toby flew us over here to his house and we spent the whole weekend in bed just gazing at the sea in between our intense sexual escapades. It has always been a dream of mine to live somewhere by the sea, and once Toby asked me to officially move in with him I did not hesitate and said yes immediately. I quit my job back home in London and left my life there to start a new one with this successful, attractive millionaire. The girls were stunned when they found out, however; it didn't take them long to warm to Toby and it didn't take me long either. Behind the sex god bravado, the fame and the money, he is actually a really caring and genuine person.

The girls and I are chilling out with glasses of wine in the living room, whilst Toby gets the barbecue started in the front garden. "Sam, let's see your ring!" Ruby asks excitedly, I lift my left hand up for them all to see. "Wow, it's stunning! Is it a heart?" Asks Hannah, I look down at the beautiful white gold ring with its stunning two carat stone in the center. "Yes, it is," I reply nonchalantly. "Girl, you hit the jackpot with that one. He adores the ground you walk on." Hannah says whilst taking a swig of her Rosé, and the others nod in agreement. I respond, "Well, I'm glad you guys like him. I'm going to bring the bottle of wine in here so we can all have a top up." I spring out of the living room and make my way to the kitchen. Another stunning view of the sea smacks me in the face, it doesn't matter how I feel right now, looking out at that view makes me realize how lucky I am. "Snicker girl!" Jackie exclaims as she enters the kitchen from the other side. "You ok?" She asks, I nod and turn away. I can't look her in the eye without her knowing that something is wrong. "Sam, I am your best friend, I know you better than anyone." She takes my hand and I turn around to face her, "You miss him, don't you?" She asks, I can't reply as I'm too choked up and I just nod again. "You know he is coming out of prison next week?" She's telling me what I have known for a while, "I know," is all I can respond with.
