Everly yawned. The sun shone in her eyes. I suppose I should be getting up anyways. She sat up and stretched her arms and legs. The hammock underneath her swung in the morning breeze. She quickly got dressed and ready for the day. Now for some breakfast. Everly grabbed a tattered purple messenger bag and set out on her quest for food. Her camp was on the beach, and she knew from 13 years of living on the island that the best fruits grew in the Mid-Forest, just past Monkey Grove. As she hiked, a friend of hers joined her. " Good morning, Walnut!" she said to the walnut-brown monkey who was running along side her.

Everly and Walnut trekked into the forest, greeting all the animals on their way. The birds, the monkeys, even the 2 tigers, which Everly had named Ella and Charlie. Once Everly reached the Mid-Forest, she started climbing trees. Mangoes, coconuts, and bananas grew in the same areas. And the pineapples grew in an open patch of greenery. She stuffed the fruits in her bag and started to walk back to camp. Oh! I forgot to do my morning sweep of the island! Everly searched the forest, and when she reached Tiger's Way, she found the most pleasant surprise.

" Ella! Charlie! Who's this?" Everly exclaimed, staring at the orange ball of fur in front of her. Charlie gave a low growl. " I can't believe you two had a cub!" Everly said. She picked up the tiny cub, taking note that it was a female. " Awww... I'll have to think of a name. Congratulations, guys!" she said, setting the cub back down on the ground.  She waved goodbye to the tigers and set out towards the beach.

At around halfway through her sweep of the beach, she noticed something on the horizon, heading towards her. Everly removed her shoes and waded into the clear water to get a better view. It was tiny. It rocked back and forth, but Everly was sure it was headed for her. Eventually, the thing was close enough for Everly to see. It was a boat.
