As Everly drifted along, she found herself full of regret. She missed her island greatly already, and she hadn't even been at see for 10 minutes. She wanted to go back, but she knew she couldn't. The tiny boat had no oars and seemed to be steering itself. It had already made so many twists and turns, it made Everly dizzy trying to remember them all.
After what seemed like years, but had only been a few hours, Everly found herself very hungry, so she pulled a mango out of her little storage container. " I wish I'd brought something to do." she said as she peeled the tropical fruit. She entertained herself for hours, making up songs and stories to stop herself from dying of boredom. Eventually, the moon started to rise and Everly drifted off to sleep.
Days Later...
Everly had lost count how long she'd been out for. She was nearly halfway through her food supply, and she hoped wherever the boat was going, that she would be there soon.
More Days Later...
Everly awoke with the sun shining in her eyes. She groaned and sat up from being sprawled across the bottom of the boat. Her stomach grumbled. She had been rationing her food, and she was down to her last orange. She hadn't eaten since dinnertime two days before, and she knew she had to eat something. So she reached into the nearly empty storage box and started to peel the orange.
As she sat back and ate, she surveyed her surroundings. And that's when she saw it. Land.
