Kara's POV

It's been a week since Metallo attacked and we were nowhere closer to finding him. Cadmus was sure to attack again, with stronger forces. In the meantime Winn had been working on a anti-kryptonite suit. Considering I can't win when Metallo has my one weakness, but none had proven to be effective.

I haven't spoken to Lena since my awkward apology. Things are just, different with us now. Like yeah she forgave me, but it feels like we're back to square one again, like I have to rebuild our friendship from scrap all over again.

"It's ready" Winn says, holding up his latest attempt at a Kryptonite-proof chestplate. He walks it over to the testing apparatus, which had been set up far away from me. So the kryptonite couldn't hurt me. He places its down and shoots the kryptonite at the chestplate.

The chestplate shatters and Winn groans. "I really though this one would work"

"We need it to work if Supergirl is going to beat Metallo" Says Jonn entering the room.

"Ive literally tried everything" Winn complains.

"What about Lena?" Alex interrupts.

Everyone stares at her questionably.

"I'm sure Lena could make one"

"But Lena doesn't even know the DEO exists" I say, I was a little reluctant to this idea. I really didn't want to ask her, considering things were so awkward at the moment"

"Well she already knows your Supergirl. Isn't it time she knew everything" Says Alex

"I agree" Says Jonn. "She might be our only hope"

Winn interrupts "Hey guys I can do this you know. I just need a little more time"

"Time is a luxury we do not have" Says Jonn. "Cadmus are sure to attack again soon and we need to be prepared"

Alex pulls me to one side. "Do you want me to go? I know things are kind of awkward between you two right now"

"No, that'll just be weird" I sigh. "It should be me"

"Good luck" I hear her say as I walk away, pulling out my phone to text Lena.

Me: Lena? Are you free right now? I need to ask you something

Lena: Sure, come drop by i'm in my office.

The texts were cold, entirely different to how we had texted before.

I fly to L-Corp, landing on the balcony and finding Lena at her desk.

"So was it it you needed?" Lena questions.

I sit opposite her desk.

"You probably saw on the news the other day, me fighting Metallo?"

Lena nods.

"I work for a top secret government agency called the DEO, Short for Department Of Extranormal operations. We monitor and take on alien threats.

"And your allowed to be telling me this?" Lena questions.

"Yes. That's why i'm here actually. We would like to recruit you"

"Recruit me?" Lena questions.

"Yes. I can't defeat Metallo when he has kryptonite. We were hoping we could recruit you to make an anti-kryptonite device, something to help protect me from Metallo. Your probably the smartest woman in National City"

I clench my teeth as I wait for her answer.

"Of course i'll help you" Lena replies happily.

A wave of relief rushes over me.

"Great!" I reply happily. "I can show you around if you'd like"

"Sure. Just give me a minute to finish this letter"

After a brief moment, she puts down her pen and pulls her coat of the coat rack.

We exit the building and find Lena's driver waiting outside.

The drive had been awkward so far. I look out the window and fix my gaze on a strangely dressed person. I start laughing.

"What?" Says Lena, smiling strength me.

I point out the window and Lena leans closer to me to get a clear view.

"What is he wearing" Lena states before she also erupts into a fit of laughter.

We laugh with eachover for an abnormally long time, each time we calmed down someone would slip and we would erupt into laughter again. My stomach was in so much pain from laughing.

The laughter relieved the tension between us, and it was beginning to feel again like it once was.

After we finally calmed down the car slowed to a stop.

"Are we here already?" Lena questions as she rolls down her window, trying to get a better view.

She groans loudly. "Traffic"

"You know it would've been so much quicker if we had flown" I joke.

"What is causing all this traffic?" I question.

"Oh you know, it might be the road you completely obliterated while fighting Metallo" She jokes.

"Oops" I reply, biting my lip. I've never really thought about the concequences of my damage before.

We finally arrive, and I take Lena into the building.

"So your telling me" She states. "That a top secret government agency is just sitting as a skyscraper, and nobody's discovered you yet?"

"Yep. Pretty much. I was just as surprised as you. Before they had me flying all the way to the desert, only to tell me this has been here all along"

Lena laughs.

I give her a quick tour. Showing her the cells that contained our alien criminals.

"And this is the lab. Any resource in there is available to you"

"Lena!" Alex says, as she approaches us.

"Alex?" Lena questions, confused as to why a FBI agent was in the DEO.

"Oh, that's another thing. Alex doesn't actually work for the FBI. She works here"

"Oh" Lena replies, clearly confused by all the new information.

"How have you been?" Alex questions as she pulls Lena in for a hug. Despite what had happened between Lena and I, Alex was still friend with her.

"Good" She replies as they break apart.

I couldn't help but feel a little jealous of Alex. I miss the hugs Lena gives.

"Well I should get to work" Lena says, entering the laboratory and leaving me and Alex alone.

"So, how was it?" Alex questions.

"Better" I reply, and I meant it.
