Tiffany's POV

"Girl somebody blowing you up," Deserae observed. She picked my phone up and looked at it. "Who is this contanct Don't answer in your phone?" She asked placing my phone back on the bed.

"Its Jerome trifling ass, don't worry about it," I said waving it off. Brushing my hair, I grabbed it and wrapped it around into a bun. Rinsing my toothbrush, I squeezed some toothpaste on it and begin brushing my teeth. "Wha ime s'it?" I asked with a mouthful of toothpaste. Appaerently, deserae couldn't understand me. "What time is it?" I reiterated after I spit the paste out.

"Oh, it's 11:42," Deserae responded.

"Shoot, I knew I should have gotten up earlier than this." Hopefully, I can still manage to make it to work on time. I should make it, after all my job is not too far. Taking my uniform off the hanger, I got dressed and rubbed a hand over my head making sure my hair wasn't sticking up. Pushing my feet into my shoes, I leaned over and tied my laces. "Bye D, see you later," I said good riddance to Deserae after I grabbed my phone and left for work. I begin power walking down the street, but soon it turned into jogging. Before I knew it, I was running trying to make it on time. The other day I was late and had to deal with a humilating speech from my supervisor. I didn't realize I was holding my breath, until I felt light headed. My shift wasn't until twelve, I had two minutes to spare. Lucky me, that's enough time for me to catch my breath and clock in.

I clocked in and started my shift, it seemed pretty slow. This was a drag, I looked around waiting for customers to show up. Im the type of employee that likes when its rush hour, during rush hour I stayed busy. More and more customers begin filing in, until I was busy and constantly moving from place to place. Eventually, the tables were all taken up except for one in the corner. The next person I saw I ducked and made my way to the back out of sight.

Why is this dude at my job? I asked myself. He makes me sick at the sight of him. Jerome need to learn I mean what I say and say what I mean. When I said it was over, I meant that. This time I'm not giving him another chance, his limit of chances have exceeded the limit. Jerome the type of person who acts like can't nobody tell him no, but I can't keep putting myself through the same cycle with him.

"Hi, may I speak with one of your employees by the name of Tiffany Sanders?" I heard Jerome asked.

"She's on the clock right now, she'll have a break in half an hour if you don't mind waiting," my coworker replied.

He must have walked away, because I didn't hear anything else. Let me get back to work before I get in trouble. Rising to my feet, I walked over to the faucet washed my hands with soap and hot water. Came back to the front and continued working. Jerome locked eyes with me and he looked to have an apologetic look on his face, but I wasn't even falling for that. Rolling my eyes, I continued to work.

*Thirty minutes Later*
"Break Time! Amanda yelled. Amanda was the supervisor. She's a very nice lady, but strict when it comes to being on time. Amanda doesn't tolerate tardiness. Last week, I got the third degree and nearly got fired for being ten minutes later. Apparently, I still hadn't learned my lesson, since I was almost late again.

Reluctantly, I clocked out and wiped my hand on a paper towel and went to the restroom. Jerome couldn't come in the women's restroom, so that's where I decided to stay all break long. After I thought about it, I decided I can't hide in fear from him. Eventually, he'll catch up with me and I'll have to face him. This was a naïve move, let me go see what excuse this boy has.

Opening the door, I walked over to him and sat down across from him at the high table. Jerome was sitting there looking pathetic trying hard to get my sympathy. I wasn't buying into any of his nonsense, but I will listen and see what he has to say.

" Can we talk?" He asked.

"That's why I'm here," I flatly stated.

"I just wanna say I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been with that girl. I'm sorry for lying to you about my whereabouts. This is not easy for me, but I am trying. I want you to know that and from now on things will be different," He said looking me in my eyes as if that were supposed to mean something.

"Is that all?" I asked clasping my hands together.

"I guess so," he said looking down.

The moment I started moving, he knew I was about to get up.

"Where you going?" He asked looking at me with pleading eyes.

"To another table, is that a problem?" I asked getting irritated.

He looked at me and I noticed his eyes were glazed over as if he was about to cry. Yea, I had never seen him cry, but that doesn't excuse the fact I've wasted too much of my time with him. Time that I will never get back. He grabbed my wrist and told me not to leave. Yanking out of his grasp, I rose to my feet.

"We are DONE, no ifs, ands or buts. I'm done with your lying, cheating and excuses. I should've broke up with you a long time ago. Your right, your one sorry muthafuka that I wish I never met," I said as my face heated up, but obviously no one could tell since I'm dark.

A single tear rolled out the corner of his eye and I laughed in his face. Unsure of why I was laughing, it kind of just came out of nowhere. It felt good to laugh in such an angry state of mind. I guess laughing was a way to express how I was feeling in some weird way. For some reason, I laughed even harder. He ended up storming off in a rage, then my laugh subdued. Clocking back into work, I finished my shift feeling like a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulder.

Dontae's POV

I begin getting quick and cheery responses from Tiffany. There wasn't anything wrong with that, I just want to know if she was really OK. So, I decided to go to her dorm and wait until she got off work. I was off today, so I had nothing but time. When Tiffany walked in, she looked surprised to see me. Nonetheless, she walked up to me and gave me a big bear hug and whispered the most amazing thing in my ear.

"Now we can be together" . This was very unexpected, but she had no idea how this made me feel. The only problem I have is my girlfriend, I'm sure I can handle her.

"Uh-uh, it's rude to whisper," Ashley said poking her nose in our business.

"How was work today?" Dontae asked taking a seat in my swivel chair.

"It was slow earlier, then it got busy," I said.

"Anything interesting happen today?" He asked, since something crazy always goes on at my job.

"As a matter of fact something did happen today," I said smiling brightly.

By this time Carmen, Deserae, Ashley and Dontae were all intently looking at me to fill them in. So, I continued to their satidfaction.

"Well, you all know that Jerome and I broke up last week. He has been blowing my phone up nonstop, until I changed my number a couple days ago. The boy was calling, texting, snap chatting and trying to skype with me. Eventually, everything calmed down and I thought by then he got the point that we were officially over. Apparently, he didn't since he showed up at my job today. When I saw him, I ducked out of his view. He asked my coworker for me and she let him know that I had a break coming up. At first, I went to the bathroom, then I came to my senses that I had to face him sooner or later. So, I left the bathroom and walked to the table and sat across from him. He had this pathetic look on his face anticipating some sympathy, but that mess don't phase me anymore. Of course he said the same old thing about how he sorry and things gone be different next time around, but I just looked at him with no expression. He grabbed me by my wrist and I looked at him like he was stupid and yanked my wrist out of his grip and told him off. A tear fell out his eye and I just begin laughing like someone turned on my giggle box or something and I continued laughing until he was out of my sight. Honestly, I don't know what washed over me, but I do feel a whole lot better as if the weight of the world is no longer on my shoulders," I explained with a smile. My friends and Bestfriend all smiled and hugged me.

"This calls for a toast! Deserae announced raising a   champagne bottle. I couldn't wrap my mind around where she got it from, but I didn't question it. Ashley handed all of us cups while Deserae poured it up for us. " To Friends for always having each others back," I said we all raised our cups and toast before drinking the liquid.
