Chapter Seventeen

Ashley's POV

"We have to go," I said trying to convince Tiffany to come with me and Deserae to the End of the year party. "Everyone's gonna be there," she explained. Parties really aren't Tiffany's thing, but she still needs to get out and enjoy herself. I mean, you only live once may as well enjoy life while you can. Tiffany was looking down as if she was in deep thought.

"Ok, I guess I'll go," Tiffany said.

"Yay, let's go," Ashley and Deserae jumped up.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Shopping," Ashley said grabbing her keys and sliding her feet in her sandals. Tiffany seemed like she was distracted or worried about something. Deserae been all smiles ever since we left from the park three days ago. Her and that dude must have really hit it off. That's good. Pulling up to the mall,we headed inside. Deserae went to Wet Seal, while Tiffany and I walked to Forever 21. A few more stores later, we left with two bags each in our hands.

Tiffany's POV

"I thought this was cute," I said pulling out a floral colored jumper.

"Girl, you gone be rockin' that, I might have to borrow that," Deserae joked.

"Look what I got," Ashley said pulling out some animal print short shorts with a v neck shirt. Actually, it didn't look half bad.

Deserae pulled out some halter tops and tights along with sandals and flip flops.

We all cooed at each others outfits, because we thought they all looked nice. Most of it was on sale or on clearance and overall we got a good deal. Something felt like it was missing and it was bothering me.

"Where is Carmen?" I asked.

"In the bahama's on a family trip with her parents," deserae said.

Me: What's up :)

Him: Nothing bighead, wyd?

Me: Me and the girls just came from shopping.

Him: Girls !

Me: Whatever, are you busy tonight?

Him: No, why?

Me: Wanna come to the end of the year party with us, apparently everybody gone be there.

Him: I guess.

Me: Alright, see ya later.

"Who you all over there texting and smiling hard?" I asked Deserae. She haven't put her phone down since we left this morning.

"His name is Anthony and he is so sweet," she smiled. "We met at the park the other day and exchanged numbers."

"I see," I said dubiously biting my lips. I wonder why this is the first I'm hearing about this Anthony guy. She probably just been too busy texting him to say anything about the dude. Hmmm, I guess I can give her the benefit of the doubt. By the way, we were staying in a hotel for the weekend so that we could all be together one last time before going back to our individual lives.

Dontae's POV

This party better be worth it, since I'm staying with my uncle and all he do is drink. Drinking beer like water gone lead him to the hospital or dead. Once, when I was trying to talk to him about going to AA. He looked at me like I was stupid and was like what that mean? A ass whoopen. Since then, I hadn't said anything to him about it. Besides, its his health, not mine.
