Chapter Twelve

Tiffany's POV

*Christmas Break

Deserae kept the heat on full blast, for awhile I forgot it was winter as hot is it was in here. Crawling out of bed, I walked over to the door and crack it open to let some air in before I suffocate. Today, we have to clean our dorm out for inspection before we leave for two weeks.

Laying back in bed, I needed fifteen more minutes of sleep. I was so tired, since I stayed on the phone with Dontae until three. Once my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep instantly. It seems like I had only closed my eyes for a good five minutes, until I felt somebody shaking me. "Huh," I mumbled rubbing my eyes.

"Get Up! We overslept," Ashley said. We all quickly got up. Carmen fell out of bed, she was so shaken up. She got up looking around and we all burst out laughing and helped her up. We all scrambled around like chickens with their heads cut off.

I picked trash up and threw it away. Carmen swept the floor. Ashley stood in front of the mirror spraying windex to clean the mirror. She grabbed a roll of paper towels and started wiping. Deserae filled a bucket up with hot water and cleaning solution for the floor. When Carmen finished sweeping, Deserae mopped and we all sat on my bed and watched TV while the floor dried.

Forty five minutes later, the floor was completely dry. I cleaned the toilet out and searched for anything else to be cleaned. We took turns showering three minutes each and cleaned the tub out.Brushed our teeth and washed our face, then cleaned the sink out. Packed our bags in a rush and sat to relax and wait on the inspector.

The inspector walked in not even two minutes later and I could see all the girls watching her carefully. She had a clip board in her hand taking notes and checking things off, she handed Carmen the sheet of paper and walked out. We all crowded around Carmen and hi-fived each other when we saw that we passed. We hugged one another and said our goodbye's before going our separate ways.

My plans were to spend this Christmas with Dontae. Apparently, he told his mom about us being together and she has been anxious to meet me ever since. Hopefully, everything goes well. The only thing I'm concerned about is whether or not Dontae and I can share a room. Maybe his mom is lenient, I don't know. Carrying my duffel bag over my shoulder, I'm headed to Dontae's Dorm.

Dontae's POV

My bags are packed, I washed my face and brush my teeth. The dorm is clean and been passed the inspection, last week. Opening the door, a gust of wind hit my legs and I felt naked. Looking down, I realized wasn't wearing pants. "Dang, I knew I forgot something," I said to myself closing the door. Rummaging through my clothes, I pulled out a pair of jogging pants and pulled them on. While taking my bags outside, I noticed Tiffany walking up to me.

She was taking her sweet time, she better be glad I love her or else I wouldn't be out here freezing my balls off. She came up to me and kissed me and I took her bag out of her hand and threw it on the back of the truck. "Are we all good?" I asked her. I could tell she was freezing her nose was red and her eyes were watery from the wind.

My nose started running and I sniffed and shoved my hands in my pocket.

"Yes, let's go," she said blowing her breath in her hands and rubbing them together. After I locked up, we hopped in my truck and took off. "I'm hungry, you got any snacks?" She asked looking at me. My girl knows me oh so well, I always keep snacks with me. My mama say I'm a bottomless pit and that I never get full, I just let her know I'm a growing young man.

"Yeah, look in the glove compartment," I said keeping my eyes on the road. She pulled out some cheetos and cashews. Now that I think about it, I haven't even eaten anything since yesterday. "Can you open that honey bun and break me a piece off?" I asked. She opened it and broke a large piece off and put it in my mouth. Chewing the honeybun, I finished it in a split second.
