Y/N POV
If you would have told me four years ago that the man I was running from is the same man I would have a home with in Greece, I would have called you insane. Those days of running seem like yesterday, but they were so long ago.
In the past four years, Frank and I haven't had one disagreement. I think he's afraid to, honestly. I'm afraid too. What's odd though is that I got comfortable with him quicker than I thought I would.
I originally though it would take years to trust him again, to not feel that deep terror within me. The fear went away within a month, the trust took a bit longer than that but after about a year, I found I could trust him again.
It wasn't only us that were happier with our lives here though.
Kristin and Mikey lived in a large house right next to the beach with their two daughters; Rowan and Kennedy. I've never seen either of them so happy and free before. Mikey, you seemed to never smile before, almost always has a smile on his face.
Ben and Christa started falling for each other after a year of all of us living together. They found their own little home in the city, where Ben now works as a translator. He's been talking to me about proposing soon.
Kira managed to find a job in the field she went to college for and is absolutely loving it. She's been talking about this guy she met through it, and I gotta say, I've never seen her like someone for more than a day. I told her I'd kick his ass if he tries anything stupid though.
Frank and I? We still own the home we bought when we moved here; a six-bedroom house far from the city. The rooms that were once filled with our five friends were now filled with our three children. Cherry, Lily, and Miles. Of course, they all look like Frank, but the girls have my attitude.
Frank isn't the monster he once was, not even close to it. He's kind and gentle, and an amazing father and husband.
I watched as he rocked our infant son in his arms, trying to get him to nap. I smiled to myself. not being able to imagine a life without him now. Through all of the pain I went through because of him, it still ended in happiness.
"Mommy?" Lily's small voice rang from behind me.
"What's up, sweetie?" I asked.
"When are we gonna see Auntie Kira again? I miss her." She whined.
"Today, baby! At your birthday party, remember? Which is in less than an hour." I giggled.
"Oh yeah! I forgot." She laughed along with me.
"What's all this giggling about?" Frank questioned as he walked out of Miles' room.
"I forgot today is my birthday party!" Lily exclaimed, still laughing.
"Hey, it's my party too!" Cherry yelled. Unfortunately, the commotion woke Miles up after Frank had just gotten him to sleep.
"I'll get him. Can you get them dressed, pretty please?" I asked Frank.
"Yep." He pecked my cheek, "Let's go, girls!"
I walked into the nursery and up to the crib where my beautiful black-haired baby cried. I picked him up carefully and cradled him in my arms, walking slowly towards the rocking chair. He always fought sleep pretty hard, so getting him back to sleep would probably take a while.
"Hi, baby." I whispered to the infant, "Mommy loves you so much."
As I rocked him, his crying began to cease, and his eyes started to close.
"How do you do that?" Frank asked as he walked into the room.
"I have the magic touch, I guess." He walked over to us and got down on his knees.
"I really love you." He whispered to me.
"I really love you too, forever and always." I carefully leaned down and kissed him.
Frank and I's love story isn't the best, far from it. It's complicated, frustrating, and sad. But the ending, that's what matters the most. He does everything in his power to make sure this life always stays this perfect. I truly believe he's the man I first met, and that he will stay that way.
The doorbell rang, which was most likely Kristin and Mikey with the kids. Frank left the room, getting the door from them. I carefully place Miles back down in his crib and left the room as well.
"There's my beautiful girls!" I yelled. I took Kennedy from Kristin. "Hi, baby."
"You have your own baby, Y/N!" Mikey joked.
"I know, but he's sleeping. Therefore, I get this baby." I shrugged, still holding the infant.
Rowan ran off to play with Cherry and Lily. We all sat around and talked until Kira, Ben, and Christa showed up.
The party was fun for all of us. The kids loved playing together, and out girls adored the many presents they got. Us adults joked around and talked about normal stuff. There is no more mafia, no more mafia, no more violence. There is only peace.
This was the life I've always dreamed of and I couldn't be happier.
