Dear Diary,
Dad, Johnny and I have had a stressful weekend. I bought a navy blue prom dress, loose enough to hide my bump and of course, I bought Johnny the matching tie. Lauren bought a deep purple ball gown and she looks amazing in it.
Johnny got discharged from hospital late Saturday and he had to stay in bed all day yesterday, so I stayed in bed with him. We weren’t allowed to do anything as Johnny was still pretty weak. I just cuddled him and made him feel comfortable .we had his doctor visit too yesterday and he gave Johnny some pain killers and said that he could get out of bed on Monday. He’s still quite bruised and he refuses to speak to his Uncle Shane and visit Jonah in the ICU. I have to respect his wishes, I can’t force him.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Today we had Lauren and Jack round. Kayla is still MIA. None of us have heard from her in a week or so. Laurens not bothered but I can tell she is deep down. My dad had to work today so we had the house to ourselves. It was the ideal time to tell them about the baby.
Lauren and Jack came round at 11am. Johnny was still in bed at the time; luckily I was up and dressed so I answered the front door.
‘Hey guys’ I said as I answered the door. They both came in.
‘Hey’ Lauren said, giving me a big hug.
‘What’s up Flo?’ Jack said. He too gave me a massive hug. ‘How’s Johnny?’
‘Johnny’s still in bed at the moment, he’s still a bit sore and he’s got a few cuts and bruises, but other than that he’s okay.’
‘How are you holding up though?’ asked Lauren.
‘Me? I’m fine. Why do I not look fine?’
‘You look different somehow.’
‘It’s probably because I haven’t put any make-up on yet. And I can’t be bothered with my nice clothes at the minute. I’ve been too busy looking after Johnny,’
‘Fair enough. You’ve had a lot on your mind.’ Lauren and Jack round to the kitchen to get them some food and drink whilst I checked on Johnny. When I got upstairs, he was wide awake and half dressed.
‘Hey, Lauren and Jack are here.’ He walked over to me and pulled me close. ‘You’ve showered. You smell good.’
‘I’ve been in bed for the last 3 days. I felt all hot and sweaty. Plus I put on that aftershave you bought me.’ I leaned in to have a smell and I felt all sick. I gently pushed Johnny out the way and ran into the bathroom. I really hate morning sickness at the moment. Johnny ran after me. He was knocking on the door.
‘Flo, baby, are you okay?’ he asked. I flushed the toilet and opened the door. ‘Yeah, I’m okay. I just need some water’. He gave me a hug. ‘If I could swap places with you I would’ he said.
‘It’s okay; it’s all worth it in the end.’ We walked downstairs and jack nearly knocked Johnny over by the time he got to him.
‘I think someone’s happy to see me!’ Johnny said jokingly.
‘We could have lost you man. You know how hard it is to get another wingman?’
‘Ah. Same old Jack.’
‘How are you feeling?’ asked Lauren.
‘Better. A lot better.’ He said as he took my hand. ‘If it wasn’t for Flo, I might still be in the hospital.’
‘That’s good. Good old Flo!’ Joked Lauren. We all sat down around the kitchen table getting ready for lunch and the subject of prom came up.
‘Are you excited for prom yet?’ Asked Lauren. We knew we had to tell them about the baby, but we didn’t know how.
‘Flo and I are excited. But Flo hasn’t got a dress or bought my tie yet.’
‘Actually I bought my dress yesterday. I bought it a size bigger just in case.’
‘What do you mean by just in case Flo?’ asked Jack. I looked at Johnny for help.
‘Just in case she bought one and it was too small. You know what girls are like Jack!’
‘Ah yeah, don’t we?’ Jack said cheekily.
‘Anyway, who’s hungry? I’m making egg and bacon for everyone’ said Johnny. Lauren offered to help him so it was just me and Jack sat at the table. All of a sudden, the smell of the bacon was making me feel sick. How was I going to hide this from the gang? I to fight the feeling but I had to run to the bathroom. Lauren followed me, of course. She was banging on the door for me to let her in. I wasn’t ready to tell everyone just yet. I still need to get used to the fact that I’m going to have a baby. Lauren kept shouting through the door.
‘Flo, if you don’t let me in, I will get a doctor out.’
‘You don’t need to. I’m fine’
‘you are clearly not! You’ve just thrown your guts up!’
‘Lauren, please, I’m fine.’
‘Fine, but I’m telling Johnny.’
‘Please don’t. he doesn’t need more stress.’ I had no reply. Great. I thought. She’s gone to get Johnny. Next thing I know, its Johnny banging on the door.
‘Flo, honey, can you let me in?’ I stood up and unlocked the door. I opened it slightly. ‘What’s up Flo?’
‘I-I can’t come out.’
‘Why not?’
‘Ive been sick down my clothes. I’m so embarrassed.’
‘What’s there to be embarrassed about? You’re pregnant; it’s going to happen time and again.’ Johnny whispered. ‘I’ll go grab you some fresh clothes’ I heard him run up the stairs and run back down again.
‘I thought you’d be comfier in one of my baggy shirts, to kind of hide your small bump. But here’s a pair of leggings too.’
‘What would I do without you? Thank you’ I leaned forward to give him a kiss.
‘I’ll be in the kitchen.’ He gave me some privacy to get changed. I was half dressed when Lauren barged in. ‘Flo, I’ve-’I had my leggings on but I hadn’t put my shirt on just yet. Lauren looked at my tummy. There was kind of a bump starting to appear. ‘What’s going on?’
‘Nothing’s going on. I’m getting changed; I threw up down my other lot.’ She slammed the door shut. ‘No,’ she said ‘I mean why is your stomach so bloated?’
‘Are you calling me fat? So what If I’ve put on a little bit of weight.’
‘But you haven’t, have you? You’re pregnant.’ I didn’t have a reply for that. ‘When were you going to tell me? In nine moths time when baby Stone pops out?’
‘Baby Campbell, actually. And when I was ready. Johnny wants the whole world to know. But I don’t. I’ll get called horrible names if anyone found out right now.’
‘You’ve got to tell Jack. He’ll get all upset otherwise.’
‘Fine, but if you tell anyone, even your family just yet, I won’t be happy.’
We walked out of the bathroom and Lauren spoke to Johnny.
‘Tell Jack about Flo, or I will.’ She said.
‘Tell Jack what?’ he said. He could tell that it was serious.
‘Jack, Flo’s pregnant. But we don’t want the whole world knowing.’
‘Ah that’s great news! Uncle Jack is in the building. Is that why Flo threw up?’
Johnny nodded. ‘Baby Stone will be loved so much.’ Jack said touching my tummy.
‘Baby Stone wont be’ I said. Jack looked at me strange, removing his hand from my tummy. ‘But Baby Campbell will be, very much.’
‘He’s having Johnny’s last name? Waheyy’
