Dear Diary,
Today was the day that every year 11 girl dreams about. Today was Prom. Honestly, I'm not too excited as all I seem to do is throw up or eat. I tried my dress on again last night, but I haven't let Johnny see it yet. I want it to be a surprise. I want to see the look on his face when I walk out of our room with my hair all done nice and my make up looking flawless. I want this to be a night to remember. One night of fun before Baby Campbell arrives.

"Flo, can you come down for a minute please? I need to talk to you." My dad shouted from downstairs. I made my way down and found him in the kitchen. He looked up and smiled at me. "Baby, I was just letting you know that your grandparents will be here soon. They want to see you before you leave for prom."
"Have you told them yet?" I asked.
"What, that you're pregnant? Not yet. But they will find out sooner or later, so we can tell them tonight, before you leave."
"I just don't want them to feel like I've let them down. I already feel like I have."
"Florence, don't even think for one second that you have let them down. They are so proud of you, you know that right? They love you more than anything, and they'll love the baby too." By this point, I'm crying my eyes out. Ah! Flaming hormones!
"Don't cry baby." My dad said to me, wiping my tears away. "I've got a surprise for you." "Wait what?"
"I've got someone coming to do your hair and make up for prom. She'll be here in an hour". My eyes widened and I smiled. "Thank you dad. I don't know what I'd do without you." He kissed my forehead and I ran to the shower. An hour later, I heard my dad greet someone at the door. I went downstairs to see if it was the hairdresser but I was wrong. It was my grandparents.
"Flo! I haven't seen you in a while my sweet." My grandma turned and hugged me. I hugged her back. " Hey grandma. How have you been?" I asked.
"I've been good thank you. Your dad told us you haven't been well recently and we were due a visit anyway."
"I wish you lived closer, I'd come and see you all the time. I've been fine. I had a gastro problem but I'm better now." My grandpa realises I'm in the room and turns and kisses my cheek before hugging me. "Are you sure you're okay. You look a bit chunky to me Flowy." Just as he says that, both Johnny and the hairdresser arrive. I kissed Johnny and greeted the hairdresser. "Hi I'm Linda, you're Florence, I believe?"
"Hi, yeah I am. Thank you for coming today"
"It's okay honey. Let's get you ready for prom! Have you got any ideas on what you want done?"
"Um, I'm not sure. I'll show you my dress and we can work something out." Linda nodded and made her way up to my room. "Johnny, I've put your suit in the guest bedroom if that's okay. I don't know how long I'll be."
"Okay babe." he hugged me and I made my way to my room, where Linda was inspecting my dress.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Flo, are you nearly ready? You have to leave in 20 minutes" my dad shouts up. Johnny was already dressed in his suit.
"Nearly dad, just putting my dress on" I shouted down. "Would you mind helping me with the zip, Linda?"
"Of course! Oh and congratulations!" I looked at her blankly. "You're pregnant aren't you?" She asked. I looked at myself in the dress and you could see a gentle outline of my bump. I smiled and nodded at her. "Right, let's get you downstairs, your family is waiting."
"Thank you Linda. For everything" she smiled and we walked downstairs.I came downstairs and the first person I saw was Johnny.
"You look beautiful Flo"
"Thank you, you scrub up well yourself" I kissed his cheek. He leads me into the living room where my dad, grandparents and his mum and Gordon were there. I looked at my grandma and grandpa, he was smiling and my grandma was crying tears of happiness. As was Tracey. She was allowed to, she's 8 months pregnant. Gordon and my dad were taking photos on their phones. It was all running smoothly until Tracey said something I wished she hadn't.
"Rob, you must be so proud right now" my grandma said.
"I love your dress" Tracey started, "hides your bump really well" there it is. Mentally face palming myself. I looked at Johnny and he looked like he saw a ghost.
"What bump?" My grandpa asked.
"Flo's pregnant, didn't you know?" Tracey said. My grandma shook her head, Tracey's face dropped.
"Is that the time?! We best be on our way. See you later" I said, running out the door with Johnny right behind.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
We arrived at the venue just in time. We found our table and luckily, we were sat with Jack & Lauren. We also had 4 other people on our table; Harry, Sinead, Max & Hayley. We had a table photo and then I asked Harry to take a photo of Jack, Lauren, Johnny and I. I stood at an angle where my bump wasn't noticeable.
Then the food came out. For our starters, we had either soup or fruit salad. I had the fruit salad as I didn't like the smell of the soup. For our mains, we had roasted turkey with potatoes, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and peas. I gave Johnny my broccoli, can't stand the stuff, and for pudding, we had either ice cream or milkshake. I had ice cream. Jack didn't want his milkshake so he gave it to me.About an hour later, the disco started and they actually played decent music. Then mine and Johnny's song came on. Johnny's favourite band is Green Day so it was only fair to have a green day song as our song. The first chord of 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' started playing and Johnny asked me to dance. I couldn't refuse. He pulled me into the dance floor and held me close.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked me.
"My grandparents." I replied. "They looked a little hurt after they found out I was pregnant. I feel like I've let them down."
"That's nonsense, Flo. They are so proud of you.."
"How do you know?"
"Because when you left the room earlier, all they could talk about was you. And I kind of mentioned that you were pregnant to them. They promised to keep it a secret until you personally told them but they were so over the moon."
"You told them?!"
"More like slipped out. I wouldn't worry about it though. They love you. And so do I."
"I love you too" I pressed my lips onto his and carried on dancing to our song.
