Flames of death etch their way closer and closer towards me.

Thick black smoke diving in to every corner of my room, making breathing near impossible. The heat already penetrating my skin, burning my flesh before the red death can engulf me. Panicking as all I see around me is the red death of the burning hot flames, getting closer and closer and closer towards me. Dust quickly fills the room, merging with the thick black smoke as the stairs collapse, a women's screams fills my ears, a dark shadow flees the room as the flames swallow the door in one gulp. The sound of shattering glass turns my attention as the flames lick their way up my arm. A rising panic beginning to take me over. It's no longer just the thick black smoke, the dust and the heat from the flames causing my breathing to become increasingly difficult but my own panic and fear of being roasted alive.

'Ashanti!' the women screams, 'Ashanti wake up !'

I'm blasted back against the wall as the room shakes as another explosion rips apart my room.

'Ashta, wake up' ! A man's voice yells, so close to me and yet the sound is so distant as the flames of death sliver across my room, sliding towards me to engulf me.

The mans voice is familiar but out of place. A second blast shakes my body.

With a jolt I bolt upright gasping for breath, clutching at my arm as I feel the heat from the where the flames where eating into me. It was a dream, it was just a dream. I scrunch up my face in puzzlement, although, I muse to myself, I have never been blasted against the wall or had my name called in the dream before?

I rub my arms where the long ago healed scars are from  the fire. Trying to push the nightmare to the back of my mind.

'Ashta?' A faint, familiar voice asks, interrupting my internal monologue.

As my heart rate slows down, my vision begins to clear and I become aware of my surroundings once more. Taking a deep calming breath. Removing my hand from my burning scar I turn to face Aunt Elsie. Shocked that I could have made a mistake in my defences and she has heard my screams. Giving it away that they have never gone. I wonder If I can pull it off as just a one off thing?

Opening my eyes I'm taken aback to discover a man with sandy blonde hair crouched down beside me, concern written all over his face.

Oh yeah that's right, It can't be Elsie.

'Carter, why are you so close to me?' I ask, trying to sound okay. Evidently from his expression he is not fooled.

'Do you want to explain to me what you were dreaming about that had you so terrified?' he asks, obviously choosing to ignore my statement.

'Purple dinosaurs' I say smiling, as if it was a perfectly natural thing to dream about purple dinosaurs.

'Purple dinosaurs?'

'Yes. They decided to take over the world. Don't get me wrong, I love dinosaurs; nothing against them. Its just the colour purple, it terrifies me' I say trying to shrug off the dream, the memory, as quickly as I could. I do not want dwell on that. It's bad enough dealing with it in my dreams, I don't want to bring it in to my waking life as well.

If I had not been so shaken from my dream the incredulous look now on Carters face would have had me rolling around the floor in hysterics.

'Ashta -'

'I know, I know, purple is not a normal thing to be scared of, but it's a phobia, phobias do not have to be rational, they just are'.

'Ashta -'

'I mean It all started with Barney, you know the one off that children's TV show?' He looks at me completely puzzled as If I have grown an extra head or something. 'Ever since I saw that TV show I've had this phobia of the colour purple. And purple dinosaurs really give me the Wiggins. It's - '
