CHAPTER - 20

Arnav's Office 🏤

Arnav:-"innu, give me 5 mins for winding up work. Then, we shall leave."

Inaaya nods to that, she starts checking some random stuff on her phone.

After sometime both Arnav and Inaaya leave towards their destination.

Arnav's Car 🚘

Arnav:-(sensing tension inside the car, decides to break it) "So, innu how was your first day in new department."

Inaaya:-"It was good."

Arnav:-"How is it, with your HOD and mentor, are they like really tough on you guys or are they a little chill types."

Inaaya:-"They are fine."

Arnav:-(stopping car at signal, turns towards Inaaya)" Is work really hectic, because of what I have heard it is tiresome."

Inaaya:-(avoiding looking at Arnav) "No, it's fine."

Seeing the signal turn green, Arnav starts the car. He doesn't want to initiate further conversation realising that Inaaya is not willing to talk to him.

After sometime, they reach restaurant.

Inside restaurant 🍽

Arnav books table at a scheduled end as they want privacy while discussing.
Both settle down and order food.

Arnav:-(looking at Inaaya) "So, innu the whole time do you want to spend is by not talking to each other."

Inaaya:-(looking at cutlery🍴on the table, avoiding looking at Arnav)" Do we even have anything to talk about, with each other?"

Arnav:-"When did that happen innu, we both could talk about anything to each other? Have we gone that far that we have nothing left to converse."

Inaaya:-(looking at Arnav) "It was only me who spoke between us. I used to talk and you used to listen. Now when I don't want to talk it is making u feel like we have nothing to tell each other."

Arnav:-"You know that's not how I am, I prefer being silent and you have always understood me."

Inaaya:-"That's the problem Arnav, it's only me who always understood you, but it has never been the other way."

Arnav:-"I do understand you, innu."

Inaaya:-"If that's what makes you sleep end of day, then you may gladly believe that. Anyways I don't want to talk about it and fight, I am in no mood today and also this is not correct place."

Arnav:-(after sometime, start talking taking a deep breathe) "I have innu, I have always understood you more than I have understood myself. All these years my life was robotic, it had no emotions, but from the time you have marked presence in my life, everything went for a toss. I have never understood or valued emotions in my life, but from the time you have come everything changed. I have changedmb my outlook towards things also. Before, it was only me in my life that I thought about, now I have to think about someone else also."

Inaaya:-"Am I being a burden in your life Arnav?"

Arnav:-(is perplexed and shocked seeing Inaaya understanding it in a different sense) "No, you are not a burden innu, how could you even think like that."

Inaaya:-(confused) "But, you have just said that you have to think about someone else also in your life."

Arnav:-"I have said that innu, but that doesn't mean you are burden on me. Does my presence in your life make you feel I am burden (Inaaya nods no to that). When we decide to spend our life with someone ,we have to think about that person also. I am trying to understand you innu, but it's just that I am not able to do it effortlessly like you do."
