ASHLEE'S POV:
Heading to Mike's room he was on his bed with his sunglasses on, I don't know why but this kid is always wearing his sunglasses lately and it's annoying as heck!
"Hey Mike, are you okay?" I whisper as I enter his room. "Yeah Ash, I'm fine" he groans his response. "Well since you're awake, Mom is inviting Max over for dinner tonight and she wants all of us there" sitting on his bed next to him he finally takes his sunglasses off. "Look can you tell mom that I won't be there tonight, I've got some stuff to sort out" he snapped. Caught off guard I stare at him, he never usually gets snappy with me. "Seriously Mike, what is your issue? Can you just talk to me?" I plead, if my brother is going through stuff I want him to know that I'm always here for him. Looking down you could see he was battling with whether he wanted to tell me, I decided to wait I wasn't going until he told me.
Looking at me knowing I wasn't going anywhere Michael sighed, "Fine but this is going to sound weird and I don't really know how to say it" he started. Sitting quietly he knew I was all ears and secretly he knew I wasn't going to judge him. "Things started getting weird when I met Star and the lost boys, like I could tell something was off when I first met them but things were worse after the night with the wine. Ash I don't think that was wine" he said with a hint of fear in his voice. "How much did you drink? If it wasn't wine then what was it?" I asked him awaiting his answer. "That's the thing I can't remember much, but Star didn't want me to drink it and I didn't listen. I've been having these urges, it's hard to explain" sweat started to form on his forehead. Something changed in him in a split second, his breathing became ragged and eyes turned the darkest I had ever seen them before, a hint of yellow glazed over them.
It all happened so fast, one moment we were sitting there talking the next Mike had lunged at me without warning. "MIKE! MIKE!"
"PLEASE GET OFF ME!"
Thrashing about I struggled to break free! Michael had become something else and there was no way I was going to stay and see what he was capable off. Sprinting down the stairs and out of the house I started my bike, riding to the boardwalk. Sam had been picked up by the Frog brothers this morning and I thought I'd be safer in public so I headed to the comic book store.
"SAM! We have a problem!" I ran in puffing, trying to catch my breath. "What's wrong?" His voice laced with concern, the brothers had decided to see what was wrong as well. Looking around trying to see if the coast was clear. "Do you guys have somewhere we can talk?" Asking the brothers, they led us to the back room.
Sighing as we walked in, hearing the door shutting I jumped slightly. Looking between Sam and the boys, I didn't know how to explain what had just happened. "Sam, I don't know how to say this but it's Mike" I started. "What's wrong? Is he okay" worry making his voice waver at the end. I could feel the Frog brothers boring holes into my face as they were eagerly awaiting my news. "I don't know what's wrong with him but he just attacked me out of nowhere. I was in his room checking to see if he was okay and he started talking about the lost boys and Star and then he just turned. His eyes were so dark and they had a hint of yellow. Something bad has happened, I know it has" tears streaming down my face. Sam gave me a reassuring hug, calming me down.
The Frog brothers intervened looking at my state. "Look Sam we need to talk to you, without Ash" Sam and I looked at the brothers, were they serious right now. Sam looked back at me as if to say I should leave, what is wrong with this damn family!
With that I left, I couldn't be around these boys any longer.
