Ready for UA Entrance Exams

"Eh? Why isn't Celine coming?" Zera whined, she was set and ready to go. After months of studying, today was the day of the exam.

"Celine is in a much more higher rank than you." Hawks explained, reading documents as he walked.

"What's that supposed to mean!" Zera paused and continued to whine, complaining how it was unfair. Hawks cringed but continued on, ignoring her on their way to the UA exams.

"So this is the prestigious school lots of kids want to enter." She stared at the tall buildings and looked at how secure the campus was, it was nothing to be amazed by, she's seen a castle and nothing tops that in her opinion.

"You're a kid too." Hawks communicated through phone.

"Oh. . . I forgot you were still on the phone." Zera sounded bored as she stared at her phone, she was tempted to hang up before he rudely stopped her. "Ah, ah, ah! I know what you're thinking. Don't hang up now just yet, I still have to instruct you on what to do moving forward."

She rolled her eyes, staring at the direction of a kid with green hair, "A brocolli?" She mumbled to no one but herself.

"What was that? Are you thinking about food right now?!" He sounded annoyed, she shrugged as she thought of what to eat after the exams were over, "I can go for another meat skewer. . ." She drooled.

"DIDN'T I TELL YOU NOT TO EAT JUNK? HAVE YOU BEEN FOLLOWING THE DIET PLAN I GAVE YOU TO IMPROVE YOUR BRAIN ACTIVITY?!"

"Neh~ Calm down, You worry too much!" Zera reassured before mumbling, "Who keeps up with a diet plan anyways. . ."

"I CAN NEVER-"

"I am this close to hanging up on you right now." She threatened as her finger hovered over the red button.

"Excuse me for yelling, what I meant to say was-"

"That's more like it." Zera looked at her phone in a bored state, an annoyed Hawks can be heard from both ends, "As I was saying, I used my connections to figure out; what is going to be on the exam---"

"You bribed some people to help you get info on what's in the exam." "Just how stupid do you think I am for you to bribe people to help me?"

Hawks thought for a while before answering, "There was this one time-"

"It was a rhetorical question!"

Hawks looked shocked, "I'm surprised you can use big words!"

"It isn't a matter of whether I can use big words or not!" An annoyed and angry Zera expressed.

"Right. . . Anyways, so I've used my connections and gathered that the exam will be split into two parts."

"I already know that, it was said in the-"

"--Let me finish speaking. It's split into two parts, the written and the physical, also known as the combat part of it. In the combat part of it, you'll go against robots and will be evaluated by the points you get. The robots have points that are based on difficulty, the bigger the point, the stronger the robot. From my intel, there are 3 types of robots, so I want you to destroy as many as you can. Although I'd aim for the bigger ones."

Zera nodded, connecting her phone to her ear buds as she entered the UA building, she couldn't have people listening in on her conversation.

"Remember Zera, I want you to use the "quirk" I've registered you to have."

"Yes, I know, my enchantment." Zera rolled her eyes, Hawks agreed and continued on," Now for the written exam, it will be based on what you've studied, so I hope you'll do well. Remember. No cheating."

"Yes. Yes." Hawks sounded unsure, "Repeat after me, I, Zera will not cheat in any part of the exams, this will also include, me not eating during this time."

"Eh!?!?!? You can't do that-"

"I WILL NOT EAT IN THE EXAM." He repeated, Zera sighed in defeat, "I will not eat in the exam. . ." She said very depressed before repeating what he said earlier.

"Great! Now good luck and don't disappoint me! Or I'll disown you."

"Huh? But you're not even my father-" He hung up the phone, she got strange looks from other examiners around her, "Sorry! Emotional man child on the phone."

They all looked away, Zera cursed to herself in embarrassment, 'I hate that damned bird.'

She walked and made her way towards the many empty seats, the area was very spacious and she sat in the middle because it had a good view to the big screen in front of her. 'This should be good.' She sat and made herself comfortable.

Before she got too comfortable, the people next to her started bickering, to her distaste she got up and sat further away from them.

"What's up UA Candidates-!" The loud voice boomed throughout the room, startling Zera as she flinched in pain and covered her ears in a shock.

Her enhanced hearing had it's advantages and disadvantages. If she's unaware of what types of noises trigger so suddenly, she will feel intense pain since her hearing is based on how aware she is; which makes no sense to her. It's a disadvantage considering she could be affected by the simplest of sounds that could be "loud". An advantage that she has is if she focuses on her hearing to hear a certain sound or pitch, she could detect it from miles away and can focus on what she's hearing like Cobra.

This doesn't apply to the other dragon slayers because when she was little she had gone through torture and inhuman treatment that involved experiments on her ears and every other part of her body.

The person sitting next to her shot a concerned look and tried to help her out with one hand on her shoulder for emotional support, "Are you okay?"

Zera looked confused before putting her hands down to reassure the person sitting next to her that she was okay.

"I'm fine, just shocked. . ." They didn't look convinced but didn't want to bother her any further. She simply smiled back and listened to the man speaking who smelled familiar.

After he went on to explain the written and combat parts of the exam, Zera tuned out the rest of his explanation, missing out on the part about the fourth robot that gave out no points.

She yawned as everyone got up from their seats to head to the classrooms assigned to take their written exams, leaving Zera to be the last one out.
