“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
-What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger, Kelly Clarkson
“Oh. My. God.”
“What. The. Hell.”
“This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”
“Cute? This is so disgusting I wanna barf. Can I kill him for touching my sister like that?”
“No! This is probably the first time your sister has ever got any action.”
“Action…” There was a long pause as my brother pondered on her words. “THAT BASTARD! I’LL KILL HIM!”
“Leo,” My eyes fluttered open as I recognized the voice of the person who had just screamed, “What are you doing here?” I peered sleepily at the two people hovering above me. Marcia and Leo. What are they doing here? I wondered.
“Protecting you from rapists.” Leo retorted. I blinked rapidly in confusion. Rapist?
“Please there’s no way it was rape.” Marcia scoffed. I noticed that her eyes were red just like her sister’s. So red is their natural eye color? That’s weird. “If anything, it was consensual. I mean, have you seen Storm? If I didn’t consider him my little brother, I would totally tap that. Plus, he’s not an asshole; he doesn’t do rape. Only assholes rape girls. And guys.”
“I’ll still kill him.” Leo replied, shrugging, “The details don’t matter.”
I narrowed my teal eyes at them in a mixture of annoyance and confusion. “What are you guys talking about?”
Marcia gestured at the person sleeping next to me. A certain redheaded boy wearing a Batman tank was curled in a ball, snoring loudly beside me. Almost immediately my eyes grew wide when I realized it was Storm. I slept with a guy?! Does that mean I’m officially not a virgin? Wait a sec, never mind. We never had sex. My cheeks were flushed tomato red, and I pushed the boy away from me and onto the floor.
Storm hit the floor with a thud! “Ow!” He cried out in a pain, and I felt bad for a millisecond. Keyword: millisecond. But then I remembered how close he was to me, and how he’d let me sleep in his bed instead of waking me up or taking me to my own bed.
“What was that for?” The redhead demanded, sitting up on the floor.
I glared icily at him, and told him, “You deserved that.”
He looked confused for a moment, before his eyes widened with understanding. “Sorry!” Storm exclaimed, “You just looked so cute sleeping there so peacefully I couldn’t move you! Sorry!”
I kicked him in the shin. He let out a howl of pain, and I scowled at him, not a trace of remorse in my facial expression. “Well, you could’ve had the decency to sleep in a different room or on the floor! Instead of sleeping on the same bed as me!” My face was bright red with both embarrassment and anger.
“But the floor is cold! And I like this bed!” Storm pouted slightly, and I resisted the urge to laugh and ruffle his hair. A small smile inched its way onto my face. Big mistake, I thought as Storm grinned, catching sight of my smile. “See? I’m so awesome I make you smile. So please don’t kill me.”
