We had been traveling for three days. We made pit stops every once in a while to rest and get supplies. We were both exhausted from the flying, Seke more than me, "I think we should stop at the nearest port. You can stay hidden in the forest, and I could go to the town to search for food." Seke gave me a side glance, nodded, and gave a little squeal to indicate she agrees.
We spotted a secure space for Seke to hide and landed there. I get off of Seke, and she stretches her back. I look back at her, "Oh, Come on! I'm not that heavy!" She gives me a satirical look. I limp my hands and head, signifying I was defeated.
She lets out a huff, finding my stance amusing. "Don't be mean!" I point my finger at her, which she licks. "Ew!" I whip my slobbered finger in my pants. Seke comes to my side and licks my face. She tackles me, still stroking her tongue my face. "Seke, girl, get off!" I try to say in between giggles. She finally gets off of me. She uses her body to help me stand up.
I start walking around. Me and Seke gather huge leaves and fallen tree trunks to build a tent-like space. We saw a big open space around a pile of rocks that had cave-like features. We start placing the trunks and leaves like the tents back home. "The only thing that's left is place leaves on the dirt floor, so we don't get dirty. You think you can do that?" I place a hand on my left hips and lean towards that side. I look at Seke, and she huffs, nodding up and down.
I clasp my hands together. "Well then'" I start walking off. "I'm off to town; I'm going to get some food and supplies. " I inform Seke and cup her face and stroke my finger on the bridge of her nose. I plant a kiss on her forehead, and she licks my face when I let go of her. I laugh at her, and she wraps her body around me, hugging me.
"Bye-bye, Seke! See you in about an hour? Maybe longer, I'm not sure." I laugh at this, Seke let's out a huff, clearly amused at what I'm saying.
I walk around the forest and see a clearing of trees near. I keep walking in that direction. I hope Seke stays safe, and nobody finds her. Me and Seke rarely separate from each other. So I was nervous to part from her, leaving her in the woods alone.
I finally make it to the clearing and see a town not far ahead. I had a coat on, so I draped the hood on my head. I didn't want to get a lot of attention. I was walking around the minute town collecting supplies and fruit and veggies since Seke doesn't like meat.
Thanks to training with dragons, I had a great ear. So, when an older couple was fighting, I could hear their conversation clearly, even though I was far away from them.
"We shouldn't go out there. Please! The fish can wait," The old lady said. "There's going to be a terrible storm." My eyes widen, I slightly lean my face towards the couple to eavesdrop their conversation.
"Aw, you're crazy. It's a nice day. No clouds, no wind, no nothing. So quit your nagging, woman." The man points at the woman; she frowns at him.
I pay for everything I picked up, I start heading back to the woods and see the same man with a teenage boy dressed in blue, getting ready to leave.
I finally arrive at the tent where Seke and me were going to stay for the night. She spots me and again, tackles me and starts slobbering my face. "Why are you so excited? I wasn't gone that long." I laugh at her, and she shrieks happily, getting off of me.
We organized all of our stuff inside the 'tent.' We weren't too worried about the 'tent' holding up during the storm. The Sun Warrior tribe had learned how to place the leaves for it to be strong enough to withstand anything.
Shortly enough, the storm came, just like the old lady said it would. Seke and me stayed deep inside the tent, huddled up together. She warmed her body up and wrapped herself around me, acting as a heated blanket.
The storm wasn't too long, so the raining stopped close to night time. But the cold became unbearable. Seke wasn't cold since she's a fire bender, I mean, she IS a dragon. She noticed how I was shivering; she gave me a look of concern. She let a little concerned yelp at me and scouted even closer to be. She gave a steamy exhale, asking me If I was okay with her doing a fire to warm the area around. I looked down, ignoring her questioning motion. She tilts her head and perks her ears up, letting her tongue roll out of her mouth and hang.
I give a wide grin at how cute she is sometimes. I nod, she flies out of the tent looking for wood to start the campfire. I follow her, collecting sticks on the way. "Do you think this is enough?" I ask her, showing her my arms while I held the logs. She nods, putting the stumps down.
I threw the ones I had on top of hers. I backed away from the pile, trying to stay as far away from the soon to be campfire. I looked to the side while Seke breathed fire into the branches. Instantly the area around the tent became warmer.
I let the warmth embrace me and calm my shivering down. The heat the fire radiated calmed me. Despite my dislike towards it, I closed my eyes and let it warm me up.
Me and Seke had been enjoying the heat and relaxed around it. I looked up and saw the bright stars illuminate the sky. I smile to myself, I look back down, and notice Seke sleeping.
I look back up to the sky and felt tiredness overcome my body. I yawned and felt my eyes get heavy. I huddle close to Seke and use her big wings as a blanket. She opens one eye to look at me; she relaxes.
I started to dose off. Then I heard rustling. Me and Seke stand up into fighting stance. Then someone comes from behind the bush.
Uh Oh.
