Choose (Part 1)

I look at the once again empty chair behind me. Something that is more important than studying? What could it be?

Hindi ko parin maialis sa sarili ko ang hindi mag-alala. I should be more worried about Knight na hindi na ulit nagpakita sa akin after we shared a kiss pero here I am worried about another guy? I slumped on my chair.

"Kanina ka pa wala sa sarili Lia. Ano na naman bang problema mo?" Divine asks me.

"Bwisit kasi yung si Lance! Ayaw nya pumasok. Nababaliw na ba sya?" I grumpily said.

"Wag mo ng problemahin si Lance. Malaki na yun." Divine said then she suddenly look at me with narrowed eyes. "Sobra ka namang yatang mag worry kay Lance. Kayo na ba?" she said making me straighten up on my chair.

"Nababaliw ka na ba? Hindi noh! May iba...." 

I stopped. I cannot tell Divine that I like Knight. If she finds out about it she will definitely tell Tito Ed and that is not good.

Lalong naningkit yung mga mata ni Divine..."Yes? May ibang alin?" She said.

"May iba pang mas mahalagang bagay sa mundo kesa sa relasyon tulad na lang ng mga utang ko." Palusot ko. Mukhang kinagat naman ni Divine because she finally focused on other stuff after that.

While we were walking later that day towards the canteen somebody accidentally bumped me kaya nahulog yung mga dala kong gamit. The guy apologized and helped me in picking up my things. 

Inside the canteen pagbunot ko sa wallet ko I saw a small paper that fell from it. Agad ko itong pinulot at binasa.

Gusto mo ba malaman kung anong klaseng tao si Lance Valencia? Pumunta ka mamayang hapon sa lumang kier.

The note said. I look around me thinking that this might be some kind of prank pero walang kaduda duda sa paligid ko.

Who made this note? Should I go? 

"Lia." A voice said behind me. I look back and saw Nico behind me. The glances at the small paper that I am holding. I immediately put it away.

"Hintayin mo kami ni Aris mamaya ha. Wag ka munang umuwi." He said. I nodded. After that Nico left.

I took out the paper again and read its content. Who put this inside my bag? Tunay na pagkatao ni Lance?

"Miss one hundred seventy four pesos." The voice of the lady on the cashier disrupted my thoughts. I immediately gave her the money and went back to Divine.

Wala ako sa sarili as I eat, hindi man lang ako makakakain ng maayos.

I stand up from my seat surprising Divine. "Bakit ba recently lagi ka na lang biglang tumatayo sa upuan ha? Nakakagulat kaya!" reklamo ni Divine.

I grab my bag, "Divine may pupuntahan lang ako." I said then I immediately went out.

I rode the bus towards the nearest port in our place. Matagal na itong abandonado. No one was inside place. There were old abandoned steel cargo pile on top of each other around the place.

"Lance?" I called but no one answered. I continued to walk until I reached the ocean. Huge waves kept on crashing to the port's wall that's dividing the ocean from it.

I sighed. Maybe someone is really playing a prank on me and I fell for it. Nakakainis. Bakit nga ba ako nagpauto? Maybe because I want to know the layers that Lance keeps on hiding from me. I really wished to know everything about him.
