Ch 1 Getting Supplies

By the time I got back to the house, everyone was frantic. I immediately got on guard,

"What's wrong?" I asked causing all eyes to go to me

"Percy!" Molly exclaimed, "We were worried about you, no one knew where you were!"

"Sorry to worry you I just went out for a walk." I said, "I didn't know I was supposed to stay here." Sirius growled.

"Or maybe you went out to inform your death eater buddies where we are located,"

"Sirius, he just took a walk," Hermione said. I looked at her surprised why would she stand up for me?

"So, your taking side with him now!" Sirius turned on her, this wasn't good if my presence tore them apart then they would never defeat Voldemort.

"I'm not taking sides! Gosh, you as bad as Ron and Harry!" Hermione exclaimed and ran upstairs. There was silence.

"Well today you should get your school supplies, Percy you'll need a lot of beginner items." Molly broke the silence, I cleared my throat,

"I don't think I have any money," I said awkwardly. Snape stepped forward,

"I'll take the boy to Gringotts and help him through shopping." He drawled.

"Are you sure Severus? I can do it?" Molly said looking uncertain. He turned and sneered at me. I had to hold in a chuckle he looked so serious when he did that.

"I'm sure." He drawled and took me by the arm, appariting. We ended right outside of a weird tilting building that said Gringotts.

"This is the wizard bank; the gods keep some money here for any child that happens to be a wizard. You survived sitting on your fathers' throne, I'm sure you can survive taking some money." I shivered at the thought, I wasn't sure that it'd even work.

"Barely," I muttered and Snape smirked at me.

"Barely is still alive." He said leading me inside. I got some money, not taking anything but money. I didn't understand the money system but I figure that out later. Snape took me to various shops and we got, books, robes, we went into a pet shop but Snape dragged me out after I had stepped in and all the owls went crazy, 'Thanks Athena' When we went to get my wand, the store got soaked. Snape pulled me out of that one too, while I was still apologizing. We got a few other necessary items and just as we were going to go back to the place Snape pulled out a cage with a small owl inside.

"This was the only owl that didn't try to kill you," He said holding out the cage the owl had peppered wings and intelligent gray eyes. I smiled. 'Thank you, Athena,' I thought accepting the owl.

"Thank you, Snape." He nodded.

"So why the character difference?" I asked I'd been wondering this for a while, but Snape wasn't this cold around other demigods. He sighed and motioned for us to have a seat,

"It's a long story and I have lots of reasons." He lowered his voice so only I could hear, "I'm a spy for Dumbledore, I'm spying on Dumbledore, I didn't have the best experience in school. Lots of reasons I'd rather distance myself from the wizarding world, and when I can I will return back to Camp Jupiter." I nodded understanding; he just couldn't get close to someone again. I patted his back.

"We'll be glad to have you back," I said and he looked startled,

"You're still splitting your time? I thought for sure when the seven-," He drifted off and my expression darkened. I stretched,

"It's the least I could do, I'm doing the best I can to fulfill Jason's promise. It's taken a lot of work, but theirs a new generation of demigods that I've recruited to continue my work. This year will be my first of many of." I said Snape shook his head.

"First-year off and this is how you choose to spend your time. When will you ever learn to be at least a little selfish Jackson?" Snape scoffed I ruffled his hair, which he hated,

"I'm selfish all the time," I said, I was, instead of fulfilling Jason's promise I passed it on. That was one of the many selfish things I've done since they've passed. Snape snorted, not believing me, and held out his arm.

"Come on you have a train to catch tomorrow," I smiled at him and grabbed his arm.
