I awoke to the boy I meet on the train starring at me with a smirk. I jerked back and banged my head on the head board.

"Ugh whats your problem man?" I asked rubbing my sore head. The boy chuckled

"Just a little pay back," He said and offered his hand, "I'm Draco Malfor." I took his hand giving his a shake. He seemed like a nice guy.

"Lets get breakfast and then I'll show you around." He said

"I'll take you up on the breakfast but Mcgnagall already showed me around yesterday." I said and Draco smirked again, as if knowing something I didn't

We got breakfast and dispite Mcgnagall showing me around, Draco did as well. He we hit it off, and after talking to him for a bit I figured we could be best friends.

"Settle down," said Snape coldly, shutting the door behind him, I sighed heavily, I didn't like seeing his cold fasaced, Draco looked at me confused but I just brushed him off, "Before we begin today's lesson," said Snape, sweeping over to his desk and staring around, "I think it appropriate to remind you that next June you will be sitting an important examination, during which you will prove how much you have learned about the composition and use of magical potions. Moronic though some of this class undoubtedly are, I expect you to scrape an 'Acceptable' inyour O.W.L., or suffer my . . . displeasure."

I choked, everyone swiveled towards me then back at Snape, eyes wide as if I would be in trouble or some- oh. Opps.

"After this year, of course, many of you will cease studying with me," Snape went on. Shocking everyone, "I take only the very best into my N.E.W.T. Potions class, which means that some of us will certainly be saying good-bye."

His eyes rested on Harry, eyes full of... not hate, but something else, but Snape moved on before I could place it.

"But we have another year to go before that happy moment of farewell," said Snape softly, "so whether you are intending to attempt N.E.W.T. or not, I advise all of you to concentrate your efforts upon maintaining the high-pass level I have come to expect from my O.W.L. students.

"Today we will be mixing a potion that often comes up at Ordinary Wizarding Level: the Draught of Peace, a potion to calm anxiety and soothe agitation. Be warned: If you are too heavy-handed with the ingredients you will put the drinker into a heavy and sometimes irre- versible sleep, so you will need to pay close attention to what you are doing. The ingredients and method" — Snape flicked his wand — "are on the blackboard" — (they appeared there) — "you will find everything you need" — he flicked hiswand again — "in the store cupboard" — (the door of the said cup- board sprang open) — "you have an hour and a half. . . . Start." Just as I stared to decipher the board Snape was at me desk snarling down at me I looked up at him and schooled my expression, I had a tendency to piss off those I was supposed to respect. I respected Snape, but not this side of him, I didn't like him like this.

"Outside now Percy," he said reaching out a hand, time slowed, it wasn't Snape standing in front of me anymore, I shoved the arm away quickly and roughly. Time speed up again and I snapped back into reality when I heard a loud crash. I felt the blood drain from my face as I saw Snape laying on top of pile of wood, that used to be a desk, he looked shocked as well. Snape, that was Snape, I had done that to him. I took a step forward, hesitated. It was like time was frozen he just sat there, in the rubble, "Percy-" he mumbled. That seemed to snap me back to reality. I took a step back, then another.

"Wait-" I heard someone call, but I just spun on my head and ran. Snape, that was Snape. I couldn't get that out of my head, I ran, pushing past people as I went. I didn't know where I was going, just knew I had to get out.

I stubbornly stayed looking at the water when I heard him approach,

"You made quite a scene in there," he said sitting himself down next to me.

"Were you hurt?" I asked

"You do realize I'm a demigod as well, I can take a little roughhousing," Snape jokes and I gritted my teeth,

"I asked if you were hurt," I said, I could feel the dark taking hold again, I work so hard to suppress it, but sometimes... Snape sighed

"No I wasn't hurt," I relapsed a breath I didn't know I was holding,

"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me," Snape stayed silent, we just stared at the water for a bit.

"What did that ghost last night want?" I asked changing the subject,

"Peeves was a demigod, son of Hermis if I remember correctly, I don't do Greek gods well, he likes to keep up what's going on with the gods and such, he likes to brag to Pluto about not being in the underworld," I nodded

"Hades," I said and Snape shot a glare towards me.

"Doesn't matter," I stared to play with the water, letting the calm seep back into my bones.

"So what's my punishment for throwing you into desk?"I asked and Snape's lips curled into a smile

"Detention for the rest of the year, that way we can talk without arising suspicion ," he paused and I tense and forced myself to stay still as he swung at me, "I told you not to go into Slytherin and you go and do it anyway," he said,

"Heh... yah, about that, when the hat asked me it just seemed so obvious," I nodded his shoulder with mine, "Besides, you need a friend," I said teasingly and he growled at me, and I splashed his face.
