making music

chapter eight

billie and finneas were currently making music, putting together a few lyrics. i was sat on the bed laying near the wall while billie was sat on the edge, singing a few lyrics that she had previously written in her notebook.

finneas was sat on a seat near the piano and all of the setup, listening to his little sisters voice. i was laid on the bed just listening to the both of them and watching all the magic happen.

"no finneas, i hate that. the lyrics don't work together." billie whined, clearly a little annoyed.

"bil, i loved that." finneas argued, a frown on his face.

"how about changing the last word to something that matches more?" i asked, looking at the back of billie's head.

she turned her head to look at me, furrowing her eyebrows. i could tell she was thinking about it. her eyes soon lit up and she turned back around and looked at finneas who soon played the melody of the song again.

she sang the same lyrics again but changed the last word like i suggested and immediately her face lit up with happiness. i smiled when she turned around and dived on top of me, swallowing me into a bear hug. she kissed my cheek, pulling away with a huge smile.

"thank you baby."

"you're welcome angel."

billie stayed next to me, cuddling into my chest. i wrapped my arms around her and sat my chin on the top of her head. she contently sighed into my chest which made me smile, kissing the top of her head.

"so is the song finally ready?" i asked to no one in particular.

finneas answered. "yeah it's basically done. i just need to add a few little bits to the final part and then send it to our team."

i smiled, proud of both of them for all their hard work. "you guys are so talented. you both blow my mind."

billie lifted her head up so she was face to face with me and pressed her lips against mine, her hands on my jaw. i tangled my hands in her hair and smiled into the kiss. she pulled away, pecking my lips once more.

"i love you, thank you for always sticking by me mama." billie said before nestling her head back into my chest.

i felt my heart melt at her sentence. i was so lucky to have billie in my life, she was such a beautiful soul.

"yeah, we seriously couldn't do any of this without you isla." finneas added.

i felt my eyes water as i listened to both of their kind words. "stop before you make me cry."

billie lifted her head up again, giggling before wrapping her arms around my neck, placing one hand on the back of my head and pulling me into her chest. a few tears fell from my eyes but i tried keeping the rest in, not wanting to seem like a little bitch.

"i love you both with all my heart." i said, earning a few awws from billie and finneas.

billie pulled me impossibly closer and kissed my head repeatedly, whispering sweet nothings into my ear.
