Desolate. An adjective meaning sad and lonely. That is exactly what Jughead Jones felt. You see Jughead hasn't had the easiest life. He dad is leader of gang and used to be an alcoholic,his mum left town with his sister when he was only little, his only and best friend ditched him just before they headed to different high school,he has trust issues, depression and social anxiety due to his past but they are slowly getting better. He also had his childhood companion Hot Dog who was a lazy scruffy dog but Jughead adored him. That was until he died when jughead was little and his alcoholic dad couldn't be bothered to get him a new dog.
He works as a children's writer, writing books about children and their dogs going on adventures. The thing that is different about his stories though is he include all different types of children unlike most authors. He has characters with disabilities, characters with ethnic backgrounds, character from poorer backgrounds,characters with glasses and other characters with special features that make them unique as he believes everyone should be represented.
Jughead didn't like to go out much due to his social anxiety so he thought getting a dog would help. He knew there was a vets locally in his town that has dogs you can rescue so he decided to look on their website at the dogs they had available. He looked for a couple minutes until he saw a beautiful dog named Buddy. He read Buddy's life story which was pretty sad but Jughead wanted to adopt him even more so Jughead booked an appointment to come and visit Buddy in a couple days.

The way Jughead felt was very similar to the way Betty felt and yet they hadn't ever met each other. It's funny how two complete strangers living in the same town could be feeling similar emotions at the same time. Maybe it would do them good to meet and potentially talk about their problems but how could they seeing as the didn't know the other existed. But they could knownthe other existed if they meet but will they? Well that is in the power of dogs.
