A couple weeks later and Betty's life was very slowly getting better. She felt a bit better but she still felt heartbroken. She also had to get a house because she couldn't live with her parents at the age of 26. You see Betty had a load of money due to her veterinary business but she didn't want to spend it all. She only wanted to spend a small amount on a house for now as in the future she wanted to spend some of it on a forever home and expanding her business.
Sure enough Betty ended up buying a quaint little house one of 12 in a close not to far away from the vet practice nor her parents house. Unfortunately Betty still felt lonely. She had been with Archie just over 10 years. They started dating when they were 15 turning 16 in sophomore year and had been togther since.
Both of them weren't in a rush to get married despite most of their friends settling down in serious relationships or getting married. But now Betty is glad she never married Archie maybe she could fine a true love but right now she was not ready however she did need some comfort.
She sat down in her home office and turned on the computer. She logged onto the vets website and browsed the rescue section. She was so excited after all Archie wouldn't let her get a dog but now she was alone she could. She scrolled wishing she could adopt them all however she could only adopt one. She remembers performing surgeries on many of these dogs to help them an dgive them a better chance at life. She came across one little puppy who had a tragic little life.
This puppy was cute and one of Betty's favourites she had seen at her practice. She just wondered why he hadn't been adopted after all She adored this dog. So the next day when she went into work she signed the adoption forms for him and now he was hers. She bought him a little jacket and the necessities which were sold at her practice. She named him Alfie and took him home that night.
