16. Shorty Reader!

It wasn't that Y/n completely hated the subway. It was just a hassle for her because if her height. And with the train being as crowded as it was today, she had no where to sit. Which meant that she had to stand in the crowded train. With her height she couldn't reach the handle hanging off the ceiling without her feet leaving the ground.

Y/n sighed as she tried to cling onto the handle, taking little leaps to try and get a better grip, but failing in the end. Trying once more y/n hopped up and missed again, this time stumbling into something hard.

"Ah, L/n-san. Please be careful." A hand gently held onto her shoulder, steadying her.

"Oh!" Y/n exclaimed, shocked from the touch.
"Didnt see you there Iida! Sorry, for bumping into you like that," Y/n apologized with a pink tinted on her cheeks.

Tenya chuckles, still holding onto her shoulder so she doesn't fall.
He looked up at the handle and grabbed onto it.
"Here L/n-san," he said letting go of her and patting the crook in his arm.
"This should be a better accessible handle for you."
Tenya looked rather proud that he thought of a solution so fast.

Y/n giggled and reached up and grabbed onto his bicep. He was right, this was much more accessible.

"Thanks Iida. You're a real lifesaver." She thanked the tall male.
He shook his head and smiled.
"Its my pleasure. I'm glad I can be of assistance."
The train jolted to a halt causing Y/n to squeeze Tenyas arm harder.
Y/n blushed at how firm his arm was.

"Heh, you dont skip arm day do you?"

Tenya's arm tensed under her grip.
"Wait. I said that out loud!" Y/n buried her face into her free hand, trying to hide her embarrassment.
"L-l/n-san," Tenya stuttered, his cheeks a tiny if red from the short girls random thought.

"Oh! U-um. I didnt just mean arm. I'm sure you dont miss leg day either." Y/n stuttered her eyes trailing all over the place trying to avoid eye contact.
"O-or any day for that matter." She said, thinking she was offending the taller male next to her.
"God, I'm so awkward," Y/n sighed and mumbled into her hand.

Tenya cleared his throat and looked down at the embarrassed girl.
"L/n. I-I'll thank you for the compliment. Or I guess, compliments," Tenya said, pushing up his glasses trying to make the girl next to him feel better.

"Sorry Iida. I didnt mean to say those things out loud," Y/n mumbled still flustered.
"No. It's quite alright L/n-san. It's quite flattering to hear these things. It makes me feel like working hard has paid off to have you say those things," Tenya reassured her.

"Oh my." A frail voice said. "What a cute couple." A old woman said from her seat in front of the two teens. A smile on her face as she watched the two.

The two teens turned a bright red and look at one another and then looked away quickly.

Not knowing what to say but not wanting to seem rude. "Thank you ma'am," Tenya said bowing a bit, his face red.

Y/n unconsciously moved closer to Tenyas side. Feeling shy about what the old woman said. She found comfort in the tall boy next to her.

Y/n giggled under her breath and sighed.

'I wish' she thought, looking at the blue-haired boy conversing with the old lady.

After a few more moments the train halted and people started heading out.

"This is our stop L/n-san. We should hurry so we are punctual for class!" Tenya exclaimed to the h/c girl taking her small hand in his bigger one.

Tenya led Y/n off the crowded train and into the station, leading her outside.

His hand still holding hers gently.
"Hey, L/n. Did you mean it?" He asked looking down at the shore girl.

"Mean what Iida? What I said about y-your arms? Of course I meant that heh," she tried to clarify for him.

He shook his head. "Not exactly that L/n. I mean." He cleared his throat. "I mean when the older lady said we made a cute couple and you said 'I wish' ." Tenya clarified, a blush forming once again on his face.

Y/n's face matched his tie in color at what he just said.
"Huh? I said that out loud too?!" She let go of his hand and held her face in her hands. "Why cant I learn to keep my mouth shut." She asked herself, embarrassed and wanting to just go and hide.

Tenya chuckled and looked at the flustered girl.
"Because if by chance you did mean it. I think I would be the happiest man in the world," he announced softly, placing his hand on Y/n's head. She peeked through her fingers and smiled, a blush still prominent.

She brought one of her hands up to her head and placed it ontop of Tenya's bigger one. Her e/c eyes meeting his blue ones.

"I-I guess you're gonna be the happiest man in the world now."
