"Are you feeling better?" Levi asked. His eyes glued to the view of the city. With the car parked, all 4 doors opened, and his ass rested on the hood, it reminded him of the day where he ended everything and fixed it from scratch. Taking you to this part of the mountain was nothing new. Each time he would visit, both of you would always stop by.
"Yeah." Every blink you took stung. Moments had now passed and your breathing was finally even. "Sucks to be me, right? Coming to terms with these feelings for a villain, handing over a case, and now..."
"It does suck to be you." Levi snapped back. "It's your fault for having a type."
"Excuse you?" You punched his arm. "You didn't tell me you used to be a criminal when you were younger. And besides, there's a difference!"
"What're you going to do?" His eyes followed a flock of crows in the sky. Pretty rare for them to be flying that high and during this time of day. The sun was high up but the cold breeze compensated for it. "You've got a bunch of heroes eyeing you down now."
"I honestly have no idea." Leaning on his shoulder, you exhaled and closed your eyes. "Seriously, though? You had to bring me here?"
"This view always calmed you." He leaned his cheek on your head. The scent of the meeting room barely covered the same shampoo that you still used till now. For a moment, a part of him wished he had not destroyed what the both of you had. Blinking his regrets away, all he could do now was to relish his time with you.
"Aren't you being sentimental~" You could feel a smirk forming on his lips. Somehow, your mind drifted to where things had gone wrong. Distance was not much of an issue. It was probably the stress that your jobs offered that made you both realize that things might not work out. Or perhaps the insecurities that you felt with Petra. "I'm hungry. Shall we go?"
"For the record," Levi said as he extended his hand for you to hold. His gray eyes were as inviting as ever when both of you made eye contact. "In case things fall off with that piece of garbage you caught feelings for, I'll be here."
"I know." Squeezing his hand, the corners of his mouth curled up and that was the end of the conversation. Pulling you towards him, he draped his arm on your shoulder as the both of you walked towards the passenger's seat. "Remind me again why we broke up?"
Watching you take your seat, he leaned on the door and crossed his arm.
"Unresolved insecurities." Sharing a giggle and chuckle, Levi closed the doors. When he finally took his seat, he revved the engine up and went back to the road.
Before you knew it, the days had gone by and the both of you were now outside of Endeavor's Agency. Every so often, heroes would enter and exit the building. It was always a hustle and bustle in this part of town. Though it was no surprise. This was the No.2 hero's agency.
Entering the building, you were greeted by Burnin'. A bright smile worthy of overshining her hero name rested on her face. Though the both of you barely did any missions together, she still deemed useful as a connection for hard to reach heroes related to Endeavor. Of course, it was rare for you to contact her.
"Endeavor is currently having a meeting with Hawks but he'll be done in a few minutes." She said. Pressing the doors to the elevator, she ushered the both of you in and selected the floor to the office. "I wasn't expecting Ackerman to tag along~"
"Caught myself off guard too." Levi replied.
"So does Hawks still exit using the window?" You asked.
"As always." Burnin' giggled. "He likes to leave a few feathers as well to annoy the boss."
"Typical." You and Levi commented.
